Relic modules can get destroyed through shields

  1. Describe the bug in a few words/sentences: Two times a direct hit of cruise missile to Relic shield destroyed my modules, one two modules, second time one module.
  2. Why do you think this is a bug: Shield should block all damage.to modules.
  3. How often does this bug occur: Today when writing this bug report, two times.
  4. What was your last action/How to reproduce the bug: Shield getting hit by Cruise missile but it does not always destroy modules, logs are needed to be checked if module gets damage every time missile hits.

Not exactly a bug but more an oversight.

As Destroyer modules are “small objects” and always have been. When you receive explosive damage you will often see two seperate numbers come through. The full projectile (let’s say, 2000 damage) and the damage  your modules received  which prior to the update would have been 4% of 2000 damage. It was still more than possible to lose modules to explosive damage if you took enough of a beating as modules only have a total of 3000 durability on average but with the modifier being shifted so drastically it is exceptionally common to lose modules through shields now to explosive damage.

 

I would hope the developers would respond to this change being unintentional and increase Destroyer module durability by either the same amount as the explosive modifier increased or more.

I know how it works when shields are down but I don’t remember it happening when shields are still online. Even with AI destroyers, when I attack them with proximity mortar which has huge splash, the modules get destroyed only when the shield of AI destroyer is down.

Also, the only thing that should leak through shield are weapons that mention it or collision damage, without counting “getting under bubble” thing.

 

Here the shield gets damage and somehow modules also get damaged but hull is intact. It doesn’t make any sense. If it was the case before then it’s still a bug. Shields should not “work” like that.

If this is not a bug then I want to ask a question:

When using logic, why shield of destroyers block damage to hull? If modules take damage even when shielded then hull also should take damage, so every explosive should damage both shield and hull of destroyer.

So, over the weekend, I was tooling around on my Relic when an enemy NPC ship crashed into me. This somehow destroyed every module(including the Special Module?) while I had nearly full hull and shield.

 

This cannot be working as intended.

Not a bug. Destroyer’s modules is different entity
