Refueling Tweaks

At present, to refuel your ship you must hit ‘tab’ or ‘enter’, right click on the fuel container and eject it into space, then press ‘c’ to refill your ship and the remaining fuel is loaded back into the hold. This is rather tedious and cumbersome.

  1. We need the ability to consume fuel tanks in our inventory at the press of a button without having to eject them into space.

  1. Additionally, it would be awesome if the fuel tank icons in our hold had small numbers in the corners to show how many units of fuel they have left.

Thoughts?

Yes on both counts. This is just one of many things about Invasion that needs to be refined.

Yes for both, as long as you have to stop/slow down for refueling and it takes the same amount of time.

Yes 2X. I would also like the feature making you explode with increased force based on the number of fuel cells you carry. 2x Fuel Cells give Suicide Module size, 4x Making a Jerry torpedo explosion, 6x making a nuke explosion.

8 cells: dreadnought Coil Mortars.

It would make life a lot easier to also have a bound “eject cargo” button. Perhaps to satisfy:

the refuel button could simply be made to an eject cargo button.

But you would eject all cargo at the same time? Or have one button for each slot maybe

You have a maximum of 8 slots. Press eject, press number N => you ejected slot number N.

Would be nice to also have the slots stay where they are, not always sorted to the right bottom.

I think they already stay where they are, and don’t have any manner of sorting. They just go left first, then up. Not that sorting would be bad. I’d like some value-sorting. Heck, combine that with pressing numbers to eject that cargo slot to make it harder to eject high value cargo by accident. Even better, keep fuel near the bottom to make ejecting fuel easier.

i voted no for the first, because i do not want yet an additional keybind actually.

There is a keybind for “toggle mouse cursor” which allows you interaction with the fuel cargo.

I do not have any bigger problems with having to jettison it first, but in-ship-refuel could as well be added to the right click menu on the item in loot.

(even if mouse toggle - right click is [somewhat irritating](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/23624-loot-right-click-menu-opens-chat-on-close/#entry273802) atm.)

Problem with that button is that when you hold it and eject cargo, it inputs itself into the chat, and that is astronomicaly annying - and if that’s a non-letter ket like CTRL, it just opens the chat line. It has to be changed.

i know, i linked a thread where i complain about it allin

i rather have that one fixed

ah nvm you found it :stuck_out_tongue:

I could support these, but i think there is better options. I think ships need their own UI inventory option when in open world, and the inventory rates need to be expanded (I=12,F=16,Fr=22)

I dont want the Inventory using up such limited room, so we should look at a “storage tank” Increase with modules (hull mods?) or make special slots for such types of fuel, or inventory upgrades.

I have to agree that there needs to be a better way to interact with the cargo slots on ships in open space… but no idea what that would be.

The interesting idea. We’ll might assign a hot key to the refueling in the future.
