At the moment the difficulty is all over the place. R7 sectors are near impossible to survive in T3 ships, and when aliens arrive even T4 will get mauled.
Add more sectors that are manageable for T3, keep R10 frontier only, and have the locations become tougher further from start. We shouldn’t have R7 PvP zones one jump from spawn!
Tier 3 ships have disadvantages against aliens if you look in a theory way they really don’t have enough time to encounter or run from them, Even a group of 4 players with tier 3 ships will have a hard time to stay/work together but thats how a dangerous open space world is
They CAN teamwork with the others higher tier players to take them down witch is a good thing in this case, it might be best to close off those tier 3 ships in some of the sectors
that’s my opinion at the movement

Hell no. Since you don’t gain (relevant amounts of) synergy in invasion space it’s clearly endgame content. I thus vote for removal of rank 1-7 sectors. Make all of it rank 10.

“clearly”? You can bring R7 (which most people wouldn’t even consider part of the “main” game) to the majority of the regions. Ergo, it is not end game. Nor did they ever suggest it was meant to be end game. What IS clear is you can launch into Open Space right off the bat - you get your R1 ship and that’s all you need!
The issue of synergy isn’t a valid argument. This is a closed beta environment. It’s not finished. Remember how Sector Conquest gave no rewards and people complained about that? Now it gives rewards. Same can happen here.
This mode is for everyone, not just for you and your R15 friends.
I know you can. I said you shouldn’t. You won’t have much fun with your R1 ship and since in open space you can only gain a very limited amount of synergy/vouchers per day you won’t ever do any meaningful progress. So since it’s not a progression based game mode I don’t see a reason to provide low level content. Their monetization model is based on progression, after all, so there is no reason to provide incentives not to progress.
Of course should they change the economy to allow you to live and progress in open space at a reasonable rate that would change my assessment.
…it’s clearly endgame content.
The fact that it has synergy gains, allows you to take rank 1 ships and the low amount of money from missions(sometimes 50-120k) should make it clear that it’s not endgame. The Devs haven’t said anything about it being endgame either. All they need to do is to increase the amount of synergy for the quests.

Just because you don’t see a reason doesn’t mean nobody does. Open Space looks to be there for fun - it’s been included because a lot of people expected it to be part of the game and demanded it to be included. Those people did NOT demand that Open Space be the best source of xp, money or upgrade kits; they just wanted open space!

I don’t speak for everybody, I speak for myself, just like you speak for yourself. That’s understood.
Guys, guys calm down! The mode just came out a little over a week ago. They’ve only done minor bug quick fixes since then but we all know more will be added to Invasion. So just play the game mode and pass your feedback to the developers in a clear, concise, and mature manner so we can help make Open Space into something amazing.
Do have some patience though, changes aren’t going to happen over night. I’m sure with all the bug reports coming in the developers have tons on their plate atm to deal with. I’m sure they’d like the mode mostly bug free for when the inevitable influx of new players from E3 come in. Afterwards they’ll probably start adding more content.

Actually it’s been in closed alpha testing for quite a while already. It’s surprisingly bug free, in particular in comparison with the much smaller patches to the main game which introduce relatively more bugs.
Yes you’re right but some things can’t be tested in closed Alpha like region stability during hi pop hours.
There’s still a few bugs though…the cargo ships routinely get stuck on objects in the home sectors and the see through red “force fields” in jericho sectors also have small black spots that you can’t see through (they appear on all these force fields so more than likely it’s an issue with the skin.)
Kudo’s to the dev team though for getting rid of the majority of bugs before closed beta release. I have noticed the Police in sectors seem to have gotten a lot stronger too…so they’re already balancing AI difficulty as well.
Personally I think the map is alright for now, and I like the fact that the AI is very tough. Some of my corpies and I were chatting about this and came to the conclusion were that in order to survive in the tougher sectors you have to bring friends, thus promoting team play in the more difficult areas. Perhaps that’s what the devs are promoting here.
There’s a lot of speculation at this point because the devs don’t seem to give us much info on where they;re headed with this. But, if more sectors of varying difficulty are added (along with better rewards) I can see that being a good thing for both solo players and those who travel in groups.
The problem is that the difficulty is way out of whack. It goes from easily to hard to impossible (or if you’re an LRF, easy to easy to easy). My point is there should be progression; easy, normal, hard THEN have the “impossible” stuff at the Frontier for Corps and squads.
