Lol, seeing repeat threads answered 22 times since this one has been made. No worries, impossible to google, figure that is the first place people look to flame. I also looked at shutting all known debuggers. That was a no go. In my opinion, it appears to be a misrecognized program that has similar capabilities as a debugger or code injector. Any ideas on that front?
I uninstalled, re-installed via steam; no change. Closed all processes allowed by system, no change. closed explorer, no change. Tried repair button on launcher, no change.Forwarded through firewall, no change. Forwarded ports, no change. Disabled firewall, no change. roll back and re-install, no change. double checked driver updates, no change. Googled parts of problem again in varied ways in an attempt for hit, came back to my own thread. Seems like an extremely limited, or easily overcome problem, but I am overthinking this or am too dumb to see the solution. Any ideas?
Under windows 7 iut will not work as you don’t have the full right under the normal commannd prompt.
To run command prompt with admin rights you need to be logged in as an admin and right click the command promt program and select run as administrator. You will knwo ait will say C:\Windows\System32> instead of C:\User\<login name>\
the commend to turn off the debugger when in admin command prompt is
bcdedit /debug OFF
Press Enter
reboot the system
Navigate to steam/install directory i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\star conflict
right click and run game.exe as administrator
The extra step needs to be said for Win Vista, Win 7, and possibly Win 8 (not sure as I don’t use that system), otherewise you’d eventually get people who don’t know and will get frustrated like I did for a day. I calmed down and came back and reread the post and looked up admin command prompt windows 7 and found the answer.
Thanks for pointing in the right direction Schmalzried. Sometimes that all someone needs to figure it out on their own.
