Hi there, I came across this thing in star-conflict and it’s really worrying me. It only happened a few minutes ago.
I loaded up star conflict (I’ve been meaning to get into the game again) and had recently purchased some standards (if that’s relevant, this has never happened beforehand). After logging in, I was welcomed to this window (this screenshot was from NoNamePaper, another player who had ran into this too):
This was weird, but I thought it was something new (despite the low quality numbers, which I thought was odd). I clicked view, and then my mouse just… froze. I couldn’t move it at all, I could use my keyboard, so I opened up the task manager and closed Star Conflict. It was still frozen. Even turning my mouse on and off did nothing (It’s wireless).
I then had to restart my PC, which allowed me to actually use my mouse properly. I opened star conflict again (after googling a bit, which resulted in nothing), and it was back to normal. The welcome popup was back and the game works fine.
( Please only add the Logs and Exceptions of the game session where the bug occured, not all! )
(Logs can be found here: My Documents\My Games\StarConflict\logs)
(Exceptions can be found here: My Documents\My Games\StarConflict\Exceptions
( Upload the logs + exceptions as a .zip archive, not .rar! )
(In case of game freezes or crashes, you should launch the game in window mode to have acess to your system)
Here’s the logs, there’s no Exceptions folder in my star conflict documents folder. I can tell it was the session it happened because of how short it was, and that it wasn’t too long ago.
I’ll re-install as soon as I can, and I’ll also ask noname to reinsall too.
EDIT2 (sorry): From 11PM my time onwards (it’s 10:30) I won’t be able to talk any more until tomorow, sorry. It’s a thing that happens.
EDIT3(Sorry for so many edits): I relaunched star conflict and it gave me a two minute update through steam, and Nonamepaper says he hasn’t got one. I don’t know if that’s relevant or not but uh, yeah…
I doubt it is, considering the skull is animated (it fades in and out). Also, I think the game downloads the image for the welcome screen from the server host; if not, then I highly doubt they would use that for a missing texture thing anyways. I’m thinking that it probably does download the welcome host screen, and something else has gotten in the way specifically to replace it. It even changes the button from ‘Ok’ to ‘View’.

No it is indeed a missing texture. The texture and text in your screenshot are the defaults and that includes the animation. I think you’re seeing the sale window and since the servers were completely overloaded the day you posted that you probably were just getting a time-out.
