Can you get logs from the player? I’m curious if it’s an incorrectly attributed kill.
Exactly this happens in Sector Conquest, team damage is active, enemy ECM is last ship which attacked you, your teammate hits you with a Standard missile -> Killed by enemy ECM - Last used weapon - Standard missile.
I got killed with a guided torpedo by a tackler in Sector Conquest. 
Too bad team damage is disabled in regular battles:)
