[R] Random Implants in Battle

So, I’m sure everybody knows about the implant problem since crews came out - in battle, implants tend to switch around rather randomly. Here’s a bunch of pictures for evidence:

My normal implant setup, with a side of complaining in chat about the bug.

A distinct lack of slow invulnerability. Also a lack of energy drain immunity. Although the module did seem to cool down rather quickly.

Not displayed - Sudden lack of energy stability due to missing F7 implant, and random boosts of energy when being shot at.

Checking after the battle, just making sure my implants are what I think they are.

Another battle. Again, for some reason, I have J7 and E8, rather than their federation equivalents.

For the curious, yes, I survived.

For the next match, I decided to hover over the module to check if it really was E8 or not. So it was. I later checked in hangar, but it didn’t show any cooldown reduction there. An odd problem, this.

As it turned out, I did not, in fact, manage to survive in the Nodachi all match. I was killed due to tackler slows, which only makes me more frustrated about the bug. Here, you can see that the repair kit seems to be operating with E8 as well.

Just so you can be certain that I didn’t change the implants just before the match or something.

And lo, upon getting into invasion, it works like a charm.

Not pictured here are bunches of stat changes that I have noticed but not confirmed. I believe that in battle, the rank 2, 4, and 6 implants have changed, because firing unguided missiles is suddenly very different from what is normal for me, and spread seems to be larger than it was previously. I may try to verify these later, but the big problem is the fact that these implants change at all.

Essentially, my ships have a completely different implant setup in battle from what they have in hangar and in invasion, which makes everything quite unfamiliar and difficult to handle. I haven’t tried switching out any implants yet, but have unequipped and then re-equipped ships from the hangar. That doesn’t seem to work.

Here are the game logs from the first couple matches today. I’ll leave the chat log out, because I get the feeling talk about trouser muffins won’t really help pinpoint the problem.

And here are the game logs from the brief step over to invasion. They’re distinct due to the fact that I only got the idea to check after logging out earlier.

Am I wrong thinking that r7 implant and up only effects rank7 and up… i.e… rank 7 wouldn’t effect r6 and below - they have no effect below their lvl with r15 being the exception. Or did i just make that up?

Thanks for the detailed bug report, it helps, I’ll forward it.

Me the same thing is happening

Happened to me as well. But the occurrences diminished progressively… seems like re-implanting fixes the problem (i’ve flipped almost all implants back and forth since the patch so i can only assume re-implanting fixes the problem)

Reimplanting does not fix the bugs, because I tried it and it didn’t do anything other than waste some credits.

that’s weird, it worked for me and crystaljack.

It seemed fine for a battle, but yeah, several notable implants are wrong and are messing with my playstyle. 5 and 8 off the top of my head, and I’m sure my missile implant is wrong as well giving me damage when I have the speed implant

Nah, the problem is that sometimes, the random god of statistics set your implants very close to your preset.

But I tried reimplantation and it doesn’t work.

I tried :

Reimplant all

Remove your ship from the combat slot and set it back

Buy the 3 crew

Nothing worked.

So right now, my 3 crew are useless because implants are random.  :01313:

No idea why but I’ve been getting this bug quite frequently today. In fact I’d get this bug every 1 match after I fixed it. Resetting implants didn’t work, removing ships and adding them back only worked for 1 match, changing 1 implant didn’t work, clicking all the crew slots (I only have 1 crew anyway) didn’t work. Restarting client seemed to work but only to certain extent, and it will be back before long. Restarting client did not work.

Seems to work fine in custom battles and invasion though.

I in fact played custom battle today and my implants weren’t working at all. I’ll report this.

So more testing on Skirmish, some implants seem to switch randomly. I’ve had R7 and R9 implants (at least I was aware of these) switching at random per match. I haven’t noticed other implants switching though.

However they work like magic in Invasion.

e: bug in PvE too

Further analysis shows that this bug assigns implants at complete random, even picking those that I have never chosen previously.

Left = Hangar, Right = ingame

Just from looking at ship stats you know that following implants changed. Note that some implants I have never picked before.

E for Empire, F for Federation, J for Jericho.

R1J -> R1E

R2E -> R2F

R3J -> R3E

R5F -> R5E

R7F -> R7J

R9F -> R9J

Not shown are module related implants because it’s not easy to spot unless I manually check them ingame.

Seriously, a 0.00000599% chance that I get the implant set I want is ridiculous :smiley:
