same

you can target them and everything, I have noticed it for a while and finally thought I should investigate

running Ubuntu 14.04

GeForce GTX 780

nvidia 343.22 drivers

when I get official answer ?

Same here.

Ubuntu 14.04

Nvidia 740M

343.22 drivers

please contact e.g. Rakza

Guys, I’ve already tested and experienced this bug for quite a while now and and posted this bug as a comment at the Nvidia Dev forums. I need you guys to help me reproduce this bug if you can and send some reports if you can. So far, I’ve experience this on Nvidia drivers. Anyone with other configurations would like to try ?

Hardware :

Optimus Laptop conf - muxless

Nvidia 730M

Intel i5-3337U

Software :

Previously

  • Lubuntu 14.04

  • Nvidia 343.22

Current

  • Manjaro 0.8.10

  • Nvidia 340.46 (Turret & drones are completely visible)

Tested 343.22 drivers. Still invisible.

So far, I have not been able to verify whether it only affects Star Conflict or other games, or it a Nvidia driver bug. Similar cases of invisible models have occured in the past, especially on Optimus-based laptops but not confirmed. I hope the devs could look into it and find the root of this problem

Forwarded.

Title Edited.

I’ve had this problem also-reverted back to 340.46 (from Debian Sid)  Using Debian Experimental–with SLI’d 550 Ti cards.  Desktop Gigabyte 2011 (3.8ghz) with 16G ram.

I noticed this problem today after I reinstalled my O/S and got the binary drivers from nvidia - I I had 343.22 but now I did have to downgrade to 343.19 Due to some CUDA toolkit compatibility issues - both drivers exhibit problem of the drones that hang out at the control towers(?) (sorry i’m new) being invisible… not too sure what are the textures supposed to look like in the hanger so I will put a screenshot of it.

Specs are

AMD Phenom II 1090t

16GB ram

Geforce GTX 970 4GB

Driver versions tried: 343.19   and   343.22

No problems with 304 driver series far as I recall.

@ODDity Like I said in my previous post, this problem only occurs on post-343 Nvidia drivers. I’m using the 340 series as a fallback till this problem gets corrected. But, as far as Nvidia is concerned, this problem is due to the game engine itself, not the blob drivers. So, until Gaijin fixes this or resolve this with Nvidia, your best bet is to use the 340 series to avoid this bug.

At the time of writing, I am using the 340.58 drivers which is the latest drivers from Nvidia which does not introduce the invisiblibility bug. The latest 343 series, 343.36, still has this bug present. Here’s a screenshot using the latest 343 driver. Take note that this affects any drones or turrets in Star Conflict regardless of which game mode you are in (invasion or PvE).

After upgrading my hardware, there are missing objects in the game. Missing means, the objects are not visible, but still full functional. E.g. turrets are not visible, but can be destroyed and are shooting. The objects are also surrounded by the orange rectangle when in sight or locked. The invisible objects occur in all game modes and in the hangar.

invisible objects are:

  • turrets

  • guns from the ships (see attached screenshot from ship in hangar)

  • drones (attach drones and engineering)

  • maybe more, but not recognized yet (its hard to guess what is missing if you do not see it)

system specs:

  • Core i7 4790K

  • 32 GiB RAM

  • Geforce GTX 970 / ASUS Strix

  -> proprietary driver / version 343.36

  • Gentoo Linux with latests Steam

-> using steam runtime (and not the Gentoo libraries)

  -> kernel 3.17.7

  -> KDE 4.14.3 + X.Org 1.15.0

The bug is always reproducible. I tried to change the graphics settings from high to low, but this did not help either. The same operating system (same installation) with my old hardware did not had this bug (Core 2 Quad q9450, Geforce GT 9800).

Feel free to ask for further informations, if you need them.

Regards,

Ulath

I’m having this same problem.  I’m also on linux.  My specs are…

3.17.6-1-ARCH

xorg-server 1.16.3-1

Nvidia 750 Ti using drivers 343.36-2

Could it be a Linux Nvidia driver issue?  Does anyone have this problem on Windows?

We need a [correct bugreport](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/25328-how-to-create-bug-reports/) in a new topic
