Hello everyone,
I’ve just redownloaded the game again after a few months break, because I wanted to take a look at the changes that have been done in the past.
When I was playing Star Conflict before (like 4 months from now ?) I’ve never had any issues. Now, no matter what mission I join (PvE/PvP) I get a
crash, as soon as the “warmup” screen is over. Sometimes it happens after a few seconds, sometimes immediately.
I’m also experiencing texture flickering in the hangar, however ingame everything looks fine. Don’t know, if thats related to the error.
What I have tried so far to solve the error:
I’ve tried out both clients, the “normal” and the steam client, in both the crash occurs.
Reinstalled .Net Framework completely
Updated Graphics Driver
Changed the Hz from my monitor to 60 (I’m gaming with a 120Hz display)
Tried Fullscreen and “Borderless” options, turned Vsync on/off…I’ve really tried all constellations of settings in the ingame options.
I’ve been also playing around with the NVidia control panel options, nothing seems to help.
I’m also crashing in the tutorial, no matter what ship im flying
Just as a sidenote:
My proccy (i5 3570k) is OC’ed to 4.4, might be that this is forcing the error, but I guess many ppl are playing with overclocked CPUs.
Would be nice, if an admin could look into the issue, or maybe someone else has an idea what I forgot to try ?
I’m really excited to play again, so I appreciate any help!
Im also adding my DxDiag and log files for you!

Thanks for the update kotory
Could you provide us with the screenshot of the texture flickering in the hangar? Try to lower your graphic settings to minimum.
Do you still experience this issue every time you start the game?
If crashes still happen please add more archived exceptions folders in this topic.

I made 5 screenshots, but you cant see the flickering on it =( - It should definitely be there, but the screens look normal. Anyways, I noticed its not the textures, its the shadows which are flickering.
The back wall of the hangar which is dark gets lit in squares.
I tried now, to run the game with lowest graphics as you told me, but that didn’t help either=(
Maybe the problem is, that the game was installed before ? I tried it on my 2nd PC and there everything works fine.
I’ll upload all exceptions that I have for you, but I’m goin’ to reinstall my windoze today anyways… I’ll tell if it works after.

Edit: After a complete reinstall of windows, I’m still having the error…
Thank you for the extra information. We are working on it.
Could you please check the RAM of your PC? Don’t you have any issue with it?
Please try to play game now after the 0.9.10 patch.
If you still have this issue try to replace the current game.exe file with this one.

With the new patch, I’m still crashing.
BUT, it’s working with the .exe you attached ! At this point, thank you a 1000 times, for fixing my problem!
Now it might not be interesting anymore, but i can swear that my RAM is ok!
About the flickering:
Now that I can stay ingame long enough to take a closer look at everything, I noticed that I can also see the flickering while flying.
If I reduce the max FPS ingame, the flickering appears less frequently, the more I reduce the frames. If I set the max FPS to 30,
the flickering only happens like once every minute for a second. (all tested in the hangar)
The flickering does stop completely, when I set the shadow quality ingame to “low”. (I’m sticking to that for now)
May you tell me what you changed in the .exe you attached ? I’m just curious what the problem was, because I saw another thread
about a similar problem, but there the problem seems to have stopped after a patch and I seem to be the only one that continued to have problem.
Again: thank you very much for your help
Flickering is probably the result of some video card issue, with the lower shadow quality video card heats less and work more efficiently.
We have several ideas (actualy three of them) why game crashes.
Could you please try another two game.exe files and provide us with logs and crush reports? We will be glad to see the information even if game won’t crash.
So we will be happy if you:
Use all three different game.exe files.
Add game logs for all three exe.files (even if game doesn’t crash).
Add crash reports.
Looking forward for the results.

Don’t blame my video card D: It only gets like 60 °C at max while playing star conflict and I haven’t got any issues in other games… But well, I guess this issue will fix itself with the next driver update. I can live without shadows for now.
Now the results:
I always joined a practice battle for the tests.
game V0.9.10.zip: no crash
