[R] Cannot change screen resolution above 1440x900

I just tried launching the game on my new MacBook Pro 15" (Retina, 2.3GHz i7, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M) and the game will not allow me to change my resolution above 1440x900 even though my actual screen resolution is 2880x1800.

I went ahead and attached the game.log and game.net.log files below.

Isn’t retina macbook automatically upscaling and actually renders at half the screen resolution?

By default, the Retina MBP ships in a pixel doubled configuration. You get the effective desktop resolution of the standard 15-inch MacBook Pro’s 1440 x 900 panel, but with four physical pixels driving every single pixel represented on the screen. This configuration is the best looking, but you don’t actually get any more desktop space.

Yes it certainly does. I played around with that a bit and managed to get it to 1680x1050 in-game, but menu items are still noticeably pixelated. In other games, adjusting the res to 2880x1800 works fine and looks great, but in SC it just keep reverting me to lower than what my machine can handle. Another thing I noticed after logging back on is that it initially displays the screen zoomed in to the lower left corner. To fix it, I have to lower the res and then raise it again each time I open the game. I get that the new MBPs just came out and that there hasn’t been much time to identify many bugs the new system might cause, I’m just (hopefully) bringing it to the dev’s attention.

Did you download the latest drivers?

Re install the game after completely removing it?

Sometimes that affects the Resolution.

I checked NVIDIA’s website and there are no drivers available for my setup. Everything works fine on other games though, so I’m not sure that’s actually the case. Also, I just downloaded SC yesterday on this machine, so it was completely removed in the first place.

Do you still have that problem?

Yep. It also tends to resize certain windows I have open after I log out. Still can’t get a higher res than 1680x1050.

Could this be the fix?

What about trying to set it at a normal resolution of 1920 x 1080P? Why the hell are you using a mac for gaming?!

Could this be the fix?

Nope. Already downloaded it and it’s still screwy. All other games work fine, only SC is giving me problems with it.

It won’t let me use anything above 1680x1050. And I don’t primarily use my computer for gaming, but this game was made for Macs to be able to play too and I’m just trying to help them make it a better experience.

welp, I hope the problem is resolved soon.
