Q: Should you shoot a Dart from rear?

Question: How much HP does a Dart lose when you shoot it form the rear for 1000 damage?

Answer: None. It actually gains +4800 Frontal Shield HP. R7-3 implant.

1000 damage = 150 energy = +4800 HP frontal shield boost.

ROFL. ![:D](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/006j.png “:D”)

Lose HP to gain 5x HP… epic.

To shoot from rear, or not shoot from rear? :\

When approaching a dart equipped with a frontal shield:

  1. If you have a piercing weapon (aka Bubbles) - pretend there are no frontal shield, since who cares how much HP on it

  2. If you have a not piercing weapon, assume you can not output enough DPS on a frontal shield to take it down, so look for angles to hit it directly, and since you can’t take down frontal shield it does not matter if it has 10000 hp or 100 000, you are ignoring it anyways.

Kaput is kaput, doesn’t matter how you look at it. Game of semantics.

You are free to sit in a corner and cry.

Yes, it get frontal shield hp, but still gets damaged by that 1k. I think its worth it.

Noone is using that implant so who should care what happens if one would use it.

You’re missing the point…

Command Shield was specifically designed so you cannot use it with implant R7-3…

Now it’s kaput, because the rear of the ship is not covered, allowing energy regen when it should not.

Simple really… an oversight.

Gonna file a bug report actually, since that fits the description of a bug.

Not a bug :

r7-3 : Convert 15% of the damage taken to the shield into energy

When shooting at a diffusion shield, r7-3 doesn’t works, because the shield did not receive damages since diffusion absorbed it.

When shooting at the back of a Dart using Frontal Shield, r7-3 do works. Because this time, frontal shield did not block damages, and the ship’s shield received damages.

Your goal is to kill dart, not to remove it’s frontal shield.

Shooting at the front will only remove the frontal shield.

Shooting at the back will kill dart.

So shoot the back
