Should rank 4 and above ships be allowed in tier one PVP?
They have more and better everything and yet they are allowed on tiers designed for limited new player ships. They stand NO chance. They all load into the match with a low rank ship and then choose the high ranked ship to fight the battle.
The matchmaking always queues you depending on the highest ship in your loadout, so picking 3 low ships and 1 high does not have any impact.

If there are rank 4 and above ships in the game, then you are NOT in Tier 1 pvp, you are in tier 2 PvP. That could happen because you have enough pilot rating or you have played enough tier 1 games. It is a newbie protection, to avoid veterans farming tier 1 games.
Also, MM always places you in the queue for your max rank ship. So at the moment you buy and use a rank 4 ship, you are in tier 2 PvP. Anyway, tier 1 ships in tier 2 pvp are still able to do something. Stick to the group and support them.
If you are new and want more chance of T1 games, simply take the rank 4 so out of the slot while you want to play T1.
Honestly I don’t mind taking on Rank 4 ships in a Rank 1. Gives me the Slayer of Immortals medal. Why not?
