i play a lot of pve and would like to see what other people run on it. would be nice to see how the pros do it
I’m no pro, but I use this build for epic crits and melting objectives quickly in pve.
other people prefer Heavy Blasters, but I like the big crits and pinpoint accuracy of Beams.

umm well we’re talking about the Mauler, and you can see the implants in the picture, im using crit damage implant so not sure what you do differently?

It’s actually true that you’ll have higher DPS with triple IR scanner on that ship though. And heavy blaster dps is about 50% higher yet.
raw DPS cant always the best option? if i knew how i would work out DPS including crits because 198% increase in damage 40% of the time gotta be a pretty big boost no? and it does feel like I take out the missile launchers on HMS faster with this crit beam setup than using my HB setup, but maybe its in my mind.
What is HMS?
First of all, if you are focusing on damage output crit chance is the way to go. Raw damage and crit damage not so much. Crit damage is good enough with the implant.

Probably due to positioning in that mission, for HB you need to have them spun up on time and be close enough that the spread does not matter, whereas with beams you can apply full damage instantly. Raw dps is one thing, but getting it on the target is the other.
