Proximity Mines need a delay

Anyone else feel that when a proximity mine is placed there should be a couple second delay before it is active?

 

Seems too many people are dropping mines right next to someone and letting them just go off instantly. Sort of defeats the purpose of setting a mine, why not just use a missile… 

Because mines deal more than thrice the dmg of a missile. They are also rather hard to use so I think nerfing them is kind of unwarranted.

Honestly only people who don’t pay attention run into landmines.

I think you are missing the point of my topic. If an enemy flies up to you and drops a mine, it will immediately go off, there is no option for you to pay attention.

I miss dropping mines in front of frigates as an interceptor…

Yes so you are getting dive bombed, there’s risks for the other guy too. It’s rather hard to do against an ceptor and it can fail pretty often against fighters unlike a rocket or a small missile. If you are flying frigates then I’m afraid you won’t get any sympathy from me.

 

Mines are also less common nowadays since only recons can use them, no use nerfing the dps of a rather weak class.

Needs skill to use. Please whine about something else that’s revelent. If I come out as mean, then I have to say im sorry. But there has been WAY to many threads complaining about these little things…

Only thing I was suggesting was a couple seconds delay before it is activate, to make it less like a close range missile and more like an actual mine.

I searched 4 pages of this forum, and didn’t see a single thread. I’m also not whining, I’m attempting to provide constructive input and discussion on the matter. If you don’t like it, don’t be a xxxx. You can simply read another topic.

I would not agree on the LRF’s mines either coz they need all the help they can get atm

 

IF mines were available to all frigates like it used to then you would’ve gotten a +1 from me. It was much too twitch defense before but now that frigs don’t get to use them anymore this is irrelevant.

There already is a small delay.

2sec delay and they have trigger radius only less than 200m.damage they do is realy high but you realy need skills to use it right.

I suggest playing on the other end and trying to drop mines into someone else’s face before you complain. See how it works, see how hard it is, and you’ll be able to judge better as a result.

You get a +1 for applying the scientific method as well as humility.

They can be quite effective, when runing away from someone around asteroid, and droping mine in a place where your chaser will probably follow. That is pretty much the only way how you can use them against other ceptors.

I believe you have been on the unfortunate receiving end of good Recon pilots. I am glad you had a chance to try out the class as it does reveal whether it is an issue with game balance, or just experienced players doing what they do best.

Yay, proximity mines are so bad for the little Fighters. But I think that nerf them is not necesary. 

I would like it to have some warning sound as for nukes. It can’t be seen that easy so it works on head on attacks vs other ships like a charm… instant k-boom XD. That or remove the sound of my nukes so surprise is not wasted. That bip bip bip is so known that one can hardly kill anyone as even slow frigs can get out of the blast radious in time :frowning:

The warning sound is enough.  Now that nukes have been nerfed, they’re used far less now.  They’re all but eliminated.  The only times I see them I think it’s a player just trying them out to see their effectiveness.  They’re really not as far as game wins are concerned.  At least before you could take out a set of combat drones to “weaken” a beacon.  Now it’s next to nothing.

What if they increased radioactivity radius to cover a beacon for example? Right now i never have any problems with radioactivity (as a possible victim).
