Prioritize group member sectors

I always get seperated from my group members when we need to be together. Which causes problems making my teammates vulnearable.

Why not prioritize putting you in the sector with your group members.

Agreed.

Considering I suggested the same thing over a month ago ([http://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?/topic/23463-squads-need-to-join-the-same-instance-always/](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/23463-squads-need-to-join-the-same-instance-always/)), yet this duplicate suggestion here is the only one I’m aware of in the entire Invasion subforum that has visibly been processed, furthermore given that no single bug report in the Invasion subforums bears any indication of having been processed (nor have the reported bugs been fixed), could you please explain how Invasion suggestions and bug reports are handled by you guys?

Thanks.

Alright, after a few updates, it still hasn’t been fixed. I am going to go over some basic issues with the sector instance choosing.

First off, as a corporation leader, I have to protect, teach, and command my members. Now with the invasion instance choosing issue, I have been seperated from my team members during a battle, and they have died, because it separated part of the group. I can’t have these battles in space, with half of our members disappearing into another instance of the map.

From what I can tell, or have observed, it seems to select certain instances as you undock. I could be wrong, but its causing such an issue. I have so many different instances of where me and my teammates have been separated when we need each other.

I like to bring new people to the game, and show them around invasion, If they are following me in invasion in a group, then they want to stay with our group. It’s not a good first impression for people looking into the game, and seeing this major issue, it won’t make them want to stay with the game. Personally I have put at least a hundred dollars into this game, and plan to put more money into it, but It pushes me away knowing that these issues happen. Now, I do realize it is in beta , but I am mainly posting this to get it ready before invasion is released.

My new suggestion(s):

  • Put a limit of 24 (+8 reserves) players in each sector. No matter what, until that sector is full, it will not create another instance of that sector. Regarding groups, that is what the reserves are for, if the sector is full, but other members in the group are coming in, it will use the reserves. And no matter what, it will put group members together, unless the sector is full, which should barely happen.
  • Put a limit of 32 players in each sector, If the group members have 8 people, and the sector has 29/32 players, it will create a new instance for the group. As long as no players from the group have entered the sector, and what you can do is put information clearly stated that this is how it works. If one of the players have entered the sector, it will create the new instance, putting all the rest of the players into the new instance, and the other player is warned automatically that he has to leave and come back. Which this could cause issues if that single player is being attacked, but you could put station protection on him even in a pvp zone. until he is back with his group.

How about this: Put a limit on the number of pilots allowed in a session at a time. When squad mates in invasion get within one jump of each other, each session reserves an empty slot. If a session is full, put a mark somewhere showing that it is full. If a session doesn’t have enough space for all pilots in a squad within one jump of it to come in all at once, a new session is created for the first squad member that enters.

The instancing when it comes to groups is beyond pathetic. If they want to encourage us to form groups, then they’ll have to give us a reason to do so instead of all these penalties that keep coming up making grouping completely unviable (from instancing issues to infinitely long match-making ques.)
I understand (in the infinite match-making ques) the need for balancing, but to the point where it cripples even the prospect of getting into a game to play is a little too extreme. I’d rather put up with a little imbalance for the sake of being able to play a round at the least, after all, this is supposed to be a GAME, not a standing-in-line-simulator. Even a lost match would result in something rather than sitting around getting nothing. As it is, I could squad up into a group of four, que up, then run a raid (or two or three) on another MMO with time to spare for a siesta with the missus and a dinner with parents before ever getting into a match.

If they want to incorporate groups/wings and corporations, then they should do SOMETHING to make that worthwhile. As it is now, this game actively encourages solo-play in most game-modes while trying to advertise sales for the purposes of grouping up. Corporations MUST spend money to form and expand their corporation, perhaps some development should be made into making flying with your corporation (your biggest customers and our comrades) worthwhile.
