The second was our R9 3-man vs Zapp’s R15 2-man squads (I say R15 cause he was flying R15 ships, so the MM MUST consider him an R15 pilot. Apparently, it did not). Plus an R12 on their side (despite him always using the Styx).
I wasnt in squad with Roen, we just accidently were on the same side. Still you never should have faced him.

So, IF the MM had worked as intended:
You had to wait till there was an other T4 random
and/or
I had to fight Roen 1v1.
Oh, even better, not even squaded and Roen took care of us 3 on his lonesome (no offense, Zapp, but his damage vs yours is just on a whole different scale in that match)

Yea. I know. He must have had pretty much perma-Orion.
MM can actually produce great, hard and fun matches! But only when the stars have the right constellation and only in custom.
I just got a whole new perspective on matchmaking and how good it is in this game when I got into hearthstone closed beta. I was matched against a lot of people running optimized decks down to having that correct end game legendary before I even had a basic set of cards for class I was playing with.
Chance of winning pretty much zero. When you don’t even have a basic set of cards and you are matched against guys who have that hilarious unleash the hounds deck and kill you in about 4-5 turns in unranked matched play, you know you’re boned on matchmaking. That and the fact that I took a basic priest deck and went diamond 2 in the first day of playing ranked. Which was equally funny.
We would like to thank our pilots for their feedback on this poll, and now we suggest to take part in discussion of the next one, regarding squads: [Poll on squads from November, 15.](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/21778-poll-on-squads-from-november-15/)
No, but the devs can essentially control what voters vote for. They put the option that THEY want to at the top because they know most pilots don’t vote for the sake of improving the game, they just vote for the 10GS.
I agree they should put a “blank” vote by default or completely rework the voting system (like having a popup that explain the vote before voting + a “I don’t care” button to skip it)
But that ingame poll still mean at least a bit. And still largely more than the forum.
When they ran this specific poll, they had an “I don’t know / don’t care” option that had about 30% of the vote. This was very quickly removed and replaced.
This means about 30% of the voters did not care.
Now, look at how the Forum Votes went and how the in-game votes went. If you took away 30% of the votes in favour of the current system you would have a vote range in game that reflects, quite closely, the forum votes.
Ergo: the majority of players who actually care enough to vote properly want a fixed tier matchmaking system.
