Whats worst, is a Domination match i was in. I was the ONLY interceptor, and guess what everyone else was? A slow, LRF and a guard frigate.
You need to actually explain to people the game mode, cause most dont even realize the actual objectives.
I hate not being able to fight my own tier. It makes the game feel that Gear and Ships are the only way to succeed. that’s why we have so many people in PVE, so many that cant fly there ships properly in PVP and why so many leave when they get stomped by any group or squad that has knowledge of the game.
I fought a Nova squad, and that was a FUN match. Why? Cause just like my team, they knew what to do. It was a true stalemate of power and tactics. Those are rare, and only in SQ, but in PVP, nothing like that ever happens.
I can tell when we will lose from the moment I start any match, as how the heck did a T4 get in a match with a T2?!
I get battles of all kinds. Some are just great with everything clicking into place where none of the negative points apply so I figured I’d check that box too.
Actually, the new one for me is Engineers who constantly spam their auras on and off. That gets seriously annoying and hurts my eyes - I would love to see them banned for trying to give people epileptic fits.
The problem is rather a lack of documentation and/or explanation in the tutorials. It is not very clear that some modules can be turned on/off as opposed to being consumed. This might explain why there are engi’s that don’t heal and some that spam their auras all the time. :014j:
The biggest problem is players who don’t know how to use their ships to win. It happens with all ship classes. People are progressing the ship tree without progressing in skill. They’re skipping skill and just progressing. I’ve encountered all of the listed items in battle, but skill’s the biggest issue. It’s game modes and game mechanics, not just murderous ability. People don’t know what to do.
So the poll really is about which situation we hate the most ? Because I can’t imagine that an average player wouldn’t have encountered most if not all of them.

I’m not too sure about whether there are too many ships of the same role. I mean, I’ve seen imbalanced teams where nobody brings an engie or stuff like that, but that’s because nobody in my team even had an engie in their lineup to begin with. And in other matches I see 4 or 5 engies.
EDIT: Just had a recon match with no engies on my team at all. (I usually drop my Styx when I want to synergize my Ira Deus so that I always have one of each ship class.) I don’t know how we did it, but we won.
I am really trying to learn this game, I’m trying to become better.
But when I get my face stomped in all the time without even having a chance in PvP - how am I supposed to learn anything?
What am I supposed to do - grind myself up to Tier 5 in PvE so I can make sure I there are no higher-tier-players who bully me off the battlefield?
Yeah, I guess THEN I could start learning this game! That’s a great idea!
And I am sure the way there will be immensely fun and the other Tier 5 players won’t mind my being a newbie at all.
EITHER I go for the method described above OR I keep getting my face stomped in and eventually quit the game forever because I can’t achieve any skill progression at all.
Well, if I hope to have any fun with this game and to keep playing it in the future - then it’s not like I have much of a choice, now do I?
I mean - the solution is so incredibly easy!
Put a little box in the PvP Skirmish window that players can tick. What its text should say? Here:
“Tick this box if you only want to fight players with Ships of the same Tier. (Wait time can increase.)”
(And then you can add an error message like “You have ships of multiple Tiers in your slots. Please change your slots so that all your Ships are of the same Tier.”)
