staph postin our photos!

Can’t beat NorthernLight’s photo though.

Best I could do is a restraining order, suicide watch, and a photo of the downtown skyline with heavy light pollution.

A tipicall night right outside my house:

We still recruit in NASA, you know…

The Moon, directly over the Washington Monument at the National Observatory Night on the Mall, June 2014!

The small, almost-pixel dot is Saturn!

Not my submission, but another cool one.

Io, Jupiter, Europa, and Ganymede. Took this through a Celestron 8" Cassegrain on May 15, 2015.

I’m a TA at my local college, and we run public observatory nights!

The quality is low due to being a phone camera. Looking through the eyepiece normally, you could see Jupiter’s stripes. I’ll get some CCD pictures next time!

Who has a camera on the personal smartphone?)

but all you can see is iso sepia instead of the stars ))) taking fotos of star sky is something the foodstagram generation can not do easily

We need a contest of fun space food…I’ll try this weekend to make a picture of the sky too. By the way, don’t forget that you don’t have to take photos of sky only! =)

Uhhh

Photo should include the main theme of the contest — night sky with stars. The rest is up to you.

Night sky with a big star that just blew up (if I’m not gravely mistaken scientifically):

Using a friend’s camera - we were together when we made it

A typical night sky, taken with a phone. Left on a lower ISO to preserve the dark quality XD [RennieAsh]
