Can someone give me some tips on how this works? I mean how do i know with what kind of damage the are firing on me?
Also im playing TECH and on the wiki says “Damage output increases when taking selected damage”. Do i need to buy this or set it up somewhere or its passive??

There is no real way to determine damage type, aside from lasers are thermal, but can go em too, etc.
Tech ability is on ship, if you press F while in space you will switch between resistance type. So make sure when you look at ship tree you see tech or raid phase shield if you hover over each ship icon. Tech is yellow I think.
what about color? like blue is EM, orange is thermal and kinnetic yellow? or it doesent matter?
For shield icon on ship, yes that is correct.
For incoming damage, there is very little way to tell.
Scrolling Combat Text has damage colors, atleast for outgoing damage, not sure if it does for incoming damage.
Yea, that’s why I didn’t mention it, wasn’t sure if it shows for incoming, plus incoming is impossible to see.
Wiki will help. There is a Chat command for this to show the incomming damage. This is: /set cl_scrollcombattext 1 // 2
