Petition to Bring Back Ship Resurrection [Yes or No]

Some of my corp mates were talking about the new changes and highly disagreed with the removal of ship resurrection without the use of duplicators. My suggestion was to create a petition to bring it back or meet us half way. Maybe only bring it back for pve and have the duplicator system for open space. I am interested to hear from you fellow Mercenaries and Corporations. Please voice your opinion! Thanks for your time and I wish all of you good skill and happy hunting.

I disagree, it makes the players in PvE weak.

Before they introduced the resurrect stuff there was absolutely no way to resurrect your teammates, even not with Duplicators which are cheap now cuz of the Salvage system.

So be grateful that you’re allowed to resurrect your own ship with duplicators instead of nothing.

With the resurrect system the victory of the PvE mission was 100% as far you’re not flying with bad randoms…

PvE shouldn’t be Synergy, Credits + fat loot for free, deserve it and don’t die!

The players only want the stuff that makes the game much easier and comfortable, of course in some points this this is right, for example matchmaking, but if everything becomes easy there will be no skill needed and it’s boring.

This game is made as MMO, not fat reward for farming bots all the time without being able to lose.

Deal with it.

If you die, you should stay dead, but even so, now you’re given a choice. Pay for the module, or craft it yourself, for free, from salvaged materials/kits.

You can still win, if you play in a group, which knows how to supplement any possible weaknesses of each class/player.

What bothers me, that I can’t select any preffered scenario in PVE as of 1.0 and that you need to use ships, which are scaled in ranks with that type of scenario, but even that is not so bad, if you know what to expect, you can prepare your ships accordingly.

I sense a disgusting amount of elitism in the No camp. “Why should we give a damn about sub-optimal players? If you want to play PvE you should join a dedicated Corp, get a purple T5 and spend three weeks mastering the maps in custom games! Only idiots play with randoms!”

Well I think it should be brought back. I am seeing a lot of average pilots die because PvE is a LOT harder than it used to be, and I see good pilots die because their teammates are dead and they can’t cope alone.

Nothing good comes of removing revival. People who argue ‘we didn’t have resurrection before!’ Need to remember that back then a badly fitted Styx could tank a punisher pulsar without ever losing shield. Now we have missions where bosses deal 65k damage per hit!

If resurrections stay gone, difficulty has to drop to the early beta level.

The biggest problem this game has is player retention. Its too hard and / or grindy for many casual gamers. I’ve seen so many join and leave over the last couple of months, mainly due to frustration.

 

Steam, for example, offers a multitude of other F2P MMOs with which Star Conflict is in direct competition with. Most of which have much easier learning curves and are more forgiving to new players.

 

If the trend of horrendously low player population continues, there wont be a Star Conflict.

 

For the sake of retaining new players, the revive system in lower level PVE should be reimplemented ASAP. Period.

Okay, i’ve to agree in this part, newbs die a lot in PvE, they can’t resurrect and lose 3/4 PvE matches without any reward (almost nothing).

Just because the station switch costs are that insane (for new players) they should have a successful way to get credits & synergy without to have that good skill.

But keep it out in the other tiers…

kind of in two minds about it. i like that it is back to the old way in pve without the revives which means i don’t have to go off and revive the same guy 11 times in a round (random guy you know who you are o.o) but at the same time it is helpful for newbs. but then again alot of newbs don’t know about that function. idk i’m not too fussed, only play pve for the daily x2

Actually, here’s a perfect solution.

Put revives back in PvE, reduce the difficulty a little and reduce the credit income a little.

Then add a ‘Hardcore’ PvE in Custom Battle. Hardcore makes enemies stronger and removes reviving of all kinds but gives more reward.

There! Now soloers and randoms get a mode that’s fair on them, and veteran squads get to run a tougher, more rewarding mode as well.

Win-win!

you can bash me for this, but i would want the revives back as well.

It at least made the pve grind easier and faster, so that you could get back to pvp.

I can’t count the times, i’ve failed at getting my daily pve bonus loot, because of bad teams in pve. Just because your in a higher tier, doesn’t mean, that the people are good at flying.

Seen it often enough, that some die to the first punisher pulsar, because they try to facetank it in an inty or fighter.

You have played 239 PvE, and I’m pretty sure 90% of them were in a squad, you don’t have a proper point of view, and you didn’t have to deal with the boring task of skipping T4 because no one played it to reach T5. 

 

Just leave.

Comes from a guy who had the luck to farm the painful Tier 4 in PvE back when you could revive, and when you could bring T4 ships to low level missions. Now that you have everything you just tell everyone to xxxx off and deal with the fact that they have to do the rank 10-15 PvE with their new white rank 10 ships.

Not everyone is doing 4 men squads for PvE, so that point is completely invalid. Also you don’t go PvE to make some kind of organized squad, you go there to win credits and level ships you can’t level in PvP for any reason.

Just like Jasan said, please just get off your horse, new players don’t stand a chance in the new PvE missions. If you go solo and get randoms, it’s completely impossible to do T5 PvEs.

I would like to see this back for invasion, it encouraged pilots to fly in teams when in open space. And made for some interesting “missions” to go out and help salvage a Corpmate.

 

 As far as for PvE… Meh… most of the time I just sat there and watched people fly by my wreckage anyway… I honestly hardly noticed it was gone from PvE.

Being gud at PvE means little to squat if the rest of your team sucks, dies too quickly, or doesn’t know what to do. The revival system, as it was, gave players a chance to immediately compensate, instead of having to repeat the mission and put up with maintenance costs.

Can there be an “I don’t care” option? I’m serious.

Rank 1-3 and rank 4-9 are really easy.

 

Rank 10-15 is mildly hard (and it should be, since you get a lot of rewards)

 

With no reconstruction (or reconstruction by spending resources) you are encouraging people to improve and get better instead of just derping around and doing nothing because your team mates can revive you.

 

In fact, I was doing the T5 PvE yesterday, I was careless, I died and my second tought was “hey, maybe I will ask somebody to join me so we can finish this” and I did.

 

If dying is a problem for you, craft duplicators. They are really cheap.

Even if Ranks 1 through 9 are easy, there is still a lot of room for failure.

 

I can give you an example of my pve from yesterday:

 

Me Rank 4 engi

Team:

  • Rank 6 Engi

-Rank 4 Inty

-Rank 7 Guard

Mission: uh, don’t know the name, but with the punisher boss and his op Pulsar in the last stage

 

Well, Stage 1 and 2 fine, a bit of struggling in stage two, because of lollygagging.

Stage 3: Inty dies to first pulsar, Rank 6 Engi dies soon after, because he tries to tank pulsar and beam lasers of Boss.

Ok, so we’re still a t3 guard and a engi. It’s doable.

 

First bots spawn, i go atack the bots. The guard keeps firing on the Punisher. He had heavy Blaster and so the second wave of bots spawnd shortly after the first one. (first spawn was not dead yet)

They all went for that guard pilot. Now he was trying to tank the boss and all the bots and exploded.

 

I was like “great, time to die” And shortly aftwerward, that’s how it happend.

 

Now i’m not a pro and maybe i did mistakes as well, but it really sucks to get almost no rewards and have to do the whole thing again. Flying missions in low tiers is no guarantee, that you’ll finish them.  :013j:

Well, as you said, losing a game sucks, but that team composition was just… terrible. And for what you have said, the people lacked any kind of common sense.

 

Back in beta, blackwood was rank 7 to 15. I remember playing it with a rank 7 deimos my first time, and it was like “WHOA!! I’m useless!!” And I was…

 

Few tips:

 

  • Don’t rush the punisher boss, the mobs can just overwhelm you. It is better to spend 2 more minutes than doing the whole thing again.

  • Take cover in the left side of the big ship. It has some kind of hangar there, and it is easy to dance the boss to avoid pulsar.

 

  • Scenario is designed so a full squad of rank 9 ships can do it with good teamwork. Less rank ships will have problems doing it. Play accordingly.

Actually, here’s a perfect solution.

I do like that suggestion (and voted it up).

I’ve got a huge issue with the new difficulty level of PVE.  Pve is where you go to level up new ships, but that’s pretty hard when you have no control over who you might end up grouped with.  Since there’s almost zero information on the missions available they get a lot harder when uninformed players are with you.  For example there’s a lot of people who don’t know you can build turrets in crimson haze, almost nobody expects that the punisher’s pulsar will wipe out engineering frigates, nobody can find the missile turrets, etc… it’s just really frustrating to waste all that time and then fail because your team isn’t all tricked out like a warcraft raid guild.
