Сontractual battles in Sector conquest: Punishment

I’ve got one thing to say, whether you like it or not:

875c43b13731b739addd3375f9080af2158e9e74

No but seriously, those guys take it far too seriously. XD

Also devs, these corps (and not only these ones) have been doing this since the beginning of sector conquest. It is a flaw in your system, that you failed to see and resolve. There have been multiple posts and complaints on the matter, with no action taken.

Your options:

  • make it less easy to exploit
  • make an OFFICIAL alliance system as many people have been asking for, so there is no need to exploit (with the danger of one massive powerblock taking over everything - hopefully underdogs will rise)
  • just keep on ignoring the issue, banning more CEOs and dissolving more corps

Thank you for opening a discussion on this at least.

This is just ridiculous. After a year of abuse…

Banning the Ceo’s is not even of symbolical value, as most of the ppl started this abuse, out of the very nature of the broken system and the not caring for the consequences. I bet 75% these CEOs don’t even play anymore.

LOL

This is the most stupid reaction what you could do.

Introduce a broken system, what totally built for abuse,
wait 1 year and then punish “random” ppl.

(I know it was not totally random but this was only one alliance, and there are more who do/did the same.)

We suggested multiple times howto fix the bad SQ system but nobody was listening.

This is the reason why the SC can’t grow. This mentality kills the game.
Remove functions and punish your small playerbase is not the way how you make friends/loyal players.

FIX THE SYSTEM INSTEAD!

Grat!

PS: I was so surprised somebody was still playing that gamemode.

…(with the danger of one massive powerblock taking over everything - hopefully underdogs will rise)

As I see the new SecCon plans still pointing towards something similar. Even if it was also stated that dreads will be required for battles so it may mean the one dread one battle at the same time rule.

Stage Five. Age of empires.

The updated SecCon version implies that corporations will not be able to constantly control occupied sectors. Capturing and holding sectors will take a certain amount of time. Long enough that corporations would be able to divide the available stellar systems. We are calling this SecCon seasons. At the end of the season the best corporations and pilots will receive special rewards — titles, medals, resources, honour and respect, their own place in the game’s Hall of Fame. And then everything will start from the beginning…

Anyway, these punishments have been due for a long time. Unfortunately, this mode is too prone to abuse. It has become clear within a few days since it release. But I don’t think this punishment will bring much change. Well. I will see. Somehow, I still don’t feel like playing SQ. Maybe after the new system starts working.

Amazing… A strange path.

As of this moment, i see 800 people in game.

I just assume its low time… i was around when low time had 2k players…

(btw how many player altogether is being punished or affected by this?)

I’ll leave this here…

Punished: two corps and a few CEOs.

Affected: If I look at the listed corps above it might mean more than 1000 players. But actually all the SQ playing corps and their members are affected. However, as you can see, not much. I can see corps from the list attacking atm and doing SQ as if nothing has ever happened.

like nobody else has done this, eh?

I mean sure, its kind of a problem, but in the time sq started to grow up it seemed rather… logical.

All of this is irellevant, because no squads. After one year of having to cope with an alliance of rulebreakers, that did so with the knowlege of EVERYONE, this is merely a joke. Fun thing, i really laughed a bit.

Yeah, and it took me one single case to figure out an alliance and how this works. After so much anticipations and excitement it was even more saddening.

Cinammon, what about the warhoom corps? They have like 8 corps so they can spam fake attacks.

As I see some sectors got blocked after the cleansing. Why is that?

it was an abusable system, and i think a lot of abuse was going on.

still hold in mind, the punishment was for an organized effort of abuse. Thats more than a few fake attacks, or corp switches.

so chill ppl.

i am still amazed someone got so into “its important to hold these few sectors” that they even employed such an effort, while i think most other corps just walked away and ignored the map completely.

it isnt so interesting to fight in a small map like this, holding sectors like this. it doesnt scale.

in this case i would think bigger. everyone could go to take sectors in less important areas, could be assigned his own area he has to conquer from pirates and erect, and this map could be just the center piece.

without that additional bigger scale, like even some additional layer of strategy, but also the simplicity of just “being part of it”, it always will feel empty to me.

so why bother.

i think they will get over their 7 day ban, and maybe learn their lesson. not really nice to see a corporation dissolved - on the other hand i hope such events will not be done without the best interest of the playerbase, and not weilded carelessly.

I speak to my corporation and yes, the punishment is mild but personally I’m glad things got to move
