It is rumored to release within half a year or so, but as any other rumor, no one knows for sure
Technically game is played by everyone on the same server (with full offline support), so technically it is possible to meet somebody. but probability of such occurrence is ridiculously small, since it is a universe size map
There is a mentioning of “playing with friends” in some interviews, but nothing specific, definately no on “Corporations/Guilds” this game is definitely not about that.

It comes down to how big of a radius you assume for your celetial sphere aka sky. But even if yiu assume a celectial sphere of a universe size you get to the point earth becoming a center of the universe, which more comon to murica to think that way, but not so much for the rest of the world.
Would be like Elite:dangerous, with much more things than just flying from station to station. Possibility to meet anyone outside most popular stations will be tiny.
Those colors are wacky. It makes me distinctly uncomfortable seeing things that are such strange colors. But then again, that kinda makes it awesome because it really DOES feel alien!

Elite and StarCitizen space look realistic, but feels soooooo boring. NMS takes on it like from some kind Sci-Fi book cover from 60s, love the style.

But from the video you posted kosty, it seems the main objective is to go around shooting those red crystal things ^^ I hope there is a bit more to it than that, but we’ll see! Maybe by the time it comes out I’ll have something I can actually play it on
Looks like the game is planned to be mostly single player, from the few scraps of information I have picked up about the game. I wouldn’t mind, to be honest. Although it would be nice if there were good options for social play – I mean, given that there’s an entire universe to muck about in, I have no doubt some RPers would love to sequester themselves a corner and do what they like. But if there’s no good support for things like that, the sorta single-player only doesn’t look very appealing to me.

Every time I hear about getting to the center of the galaxy, I think about Spore. I remember getting there after ages of farming to get the equipment and consumables to get past the Grox and being massively disappointed after actually getting there.
