Destroyers are overrated. If they suck so bad, try something else:

its really not the ship role at all … its the lack of good players on line at any given time … the level of incompetence this year is at a all time high … the players that knew what they were doing have moved to other games … the new players that would get better in a month don’t last a month … so we are constantly playing with a 50% to 75% N00B team and rank 15 PVE is not possible to do solo except for Defense Contract …

To other games or they just playing together to avoid random PvE - there are few corps focused purely on squad PvE playing. TBH it’s not that bad - in the last 50 games with randoms I haven’t lost a game. However I always have proper ships and selecting scenario for this lineup, almost never going for random map.
Also there is small flaw in your reasoning - player that joins R15 PvE is hardly a new player :).
Yeah, and with the new system the odds of having one of those in high-ranks will be even less.

I see a slight problem there. Upon entering pve with a rank 15 you can still meet r11 ships and that’s the Aces he was talking about.

Even if you tier rush reaching R11 needs a few hundreds battles - hardly a newbe in my book.

He could be from Mars as well. I mean - the problem is not people and their time in game. Problem is with people that want to be carried and get their 40+ iridium for free. Unfortunately the only method to avoid them is to have a pool of contacts playing PvE.

Out of his position, this would explain that your game experience is totally different from his.
I would give him some crimson solace and the hope that future storyline based missions and fleet rework would increase player base and corps and enable him to avoid some frustrations in the future. Thats why I argued for 2 classes of corporations: for the new and for vets, because even vets still need hints, tricks and help in builds some time or the other… in this evolving game.
In his case he should focus on ships he is good at flying and discuss the builds with experienced players. With good ship builds frustration is less proponent in gaming SC and then he might be enthusiastic to learn more ships and roles and strategies…
