New Xeno Weapons Don't Increase Special Module Damage

Branching laser , Guided thermosphere , Recoil-compensated cannon , don’t register as a weapon for the LRF special modules … I haven’t tried it on covert ops but I’m sure its the same … so you have a choice for your premium purchase , the weapon you bought the ship for or the special module that was designed to make the ship OP … which one do you want …because you can’t have both ![:017:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/017.gif “:017:”)

You sure?

so the problem only seems to affect the torpedo, not the disintegrator

You weren’t forced to pay for the ships, you paid because you wanted to, special module damage is increased depending not only on the weapon level but also its rank, meaning that the higher the level the more damage, you can have two mk4 or mk5 weapons but if one is R13 and the other is R14 there will still be a difference, lets take Tor AE as an example:

Without any weapons base damage is 8181:

screenshot-180205-152309.png

But when using a Mk1 R11 Mass Driver the damage is the same:

screenshot-180205-152100.png

Then you have a Mk4 R11 Mass Driver, damage has increased to 10341:

screenshot-180205-152122.png

A R14 Mass Driver which is also Mk4 will further increase the damage to 11421:

screenshot-180205-152132.png

Lastly you have a R17 Coil Mortar which is Mk4 and increases the damage to 11961:

What we learned here is that damage is increased in certain steps, the closer the weapon rank is to the ship’s one and the lower the level is, the lower the increase will be until there will be no difference, the Branching laser was R14 and Mk1 so there was no increase in damage, the steps for the damage increase are probably the same but the scale between the Guided Torpedo and the Disintegrator differs, hope this was helpful.

are you stupid or blind  ??? we all know you can’t read … WHAT PART OF PREMIUM SHIPS DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND BAFOON?

Actually it doesn’t matter if it is premium or not. If the main weapon is too low level and/or quality - it will not boost the special module. Period. So before you start to insult people, please try to understand how it works.

Ie:

Mauler with recoil compensated cannon (blue quality, R12-R17)

image.png.a0df31f0fe28dea14bbe8a4233d3441a.png

Mauler with same range of other weapon of the same quality (heavy blaster):

image.png.9031b3edcfcda2b914b57ad48f853343.png

However, some weapons have those boost levels modified (like Dag’nith launcher). From your screenshots it looks like Branching Laser will work on lower rank ships, quick check:

I don’t have guided thermosphere, so I cannot verify that one. If you feel it’s a bug, please make a bug report [HERE](< base_url >/index.php?/forum/124-weapons/) using [THOSE](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/25328-how-to-create-bug-reports/) guidelines.

OK FOR THE LAST TIME  ARE ALL OF YOU ACCUSING ME OF PHOTOSHOPING THE SCREEN SHOT ???  … CAN YOU SEE THE SCREEN SHOT THAT CLEARLY SHOWS THAT ITS NOT CHANGING FOR ANY WEAPON BUT THE OLDER ONES ??? …  I DIDN’T START INSULTING UNTIL THE SCREENSHOTS WERE DENIED …

YES I’M POSITIVE !!!  remember I said premium ships you were forced to pay for with real world cash…

THAT WAS MY FIRST RESPONSE …

Accusing? No. Have you actually read my post? Calm down, read and think. Weapons will not increase special module damage if they are too low rank range and/or too low quality (or have the spec module damage increase multiplication modifier set to 1 = no increase). How hard it is to understand that? Insulting other people because of lack of understanding how something works? Please.

Empty:

So next time before you start insulting and shouting, learn how something works, ok? Also - we live in civilised world, not in primitive caveman society, where you have to use such wording and behaviour to communicate with other people. If you don’t understand something - by all means - ask. There is no shame in asking about something you don’t know about.

Regarding your screenshots:

1st one is bare, so we have the base damage. 2nd one - weapon is of too low quality. 3rd one - too low rank range (it increases spec module damage on lower ranked ships - see my example with Atlas). 4th and the 5th ones are the same and are example of what I was explaining earlier - different buff modifier (please refer to my previous post). 6th one is highest ranked Heavy Blaster of highest quality and it increases the damage as it should. So if you are not happy that Guided Thermosphere has too low spec module increase and you think it’s a bug - as I said before - please do a proper bug report and stop wasting  your and others time.

hmm according to [[this]](<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2018_02/screenshot-180205-100551.thumb.jpg.f8f5022745c9a7c4d14aacacebfcc36b.jpg) screenshot it remains unchanged even with mk4 weapon

I guess it needs higher dmg as well to affect it?

Also Guided Thermosphere while beeing max rank (r13+ like Positron) doesn’t effect the Special Module dmg at all while Positron boosts it by over 500 even if it is mk1.

As I said before - looks like the T5 version of Guided Thermosphere doesn’t have a boost modifier for special module. The lower rank (R3-R7) does have one:
