Secondly, this is the most important part. Long Range Frigates and Covert Ops interceptors are handicapped by the fact the new weapons cannot be upgraded. As a result their special module deals damage as if the weapon was a MK1 module. Other ships seem to have no issues as their special module damage does not scale with the upgrade level. This is however a very big issue for Long Range frigates and Covert Ops interceptors. They are handicapped in terms of special module damage simply because the weapon cannot be upgraded. It would be greatly appreciated to at least enable upgrading the weapon to put Covert Ops and Long Range ships on an equal level playing field as others.

Could you possibly imagine if the new weapons had even slightly weaker than normal damage of regular mk1 weapons? Why you no think things through? Please just think… Please I beg of you.
Scatter gun with 9 degree spread with mk4 pulse laser damage. Yay I get a kill everything weapon! Destructor with a heavy blaster damage w/ 1000 dps AOE. Yay Yay Yay! Awesome, a phaser that can go 11000 meters in range and can oneshot frigates! YYYYYYAAAAAAYYYYYaaaayyyyaaYYYYYYYYY!
Not to ment the frame loss that low spec computers get when facing scatter gun or destructor.
I am not actually concerned about the damage. Just the fact they cannot be upgraded. My guided torpedo does like 25% less damage simply because i am using the destroyer which cannot be upgraded. A simple solution would be to enable upgrading of these new weapons to make the Special module of Covert Ops and Long Range actually deal damage as though it were a MK4 weapon. As t stands now, these 2 ship classes suffer because they have no way around this disadvantage. A change to this would be greatly appreciated

It’s the same as last year. You can’t upgrade them because they’re prototypes. When the event ends you will lose them and get your money back.

They are event weapons and therefore not upgradable. Furtheremore they are already dealing a lot of damage.
