Well it is not unlogical i suppose but I doubt it will change a lot, big corps will just get more for the same effort. Dont think this will change the playing field a lot. It is already hard to retake a sector with +100 percent defence left, dont see that changing soon. Smaller corps will have a harder time.

day 5 barely gives a little more than what sectors usually gave. As matter of fact, day 4 is lesser in rewards than it used to be

This is a VERY BAD system. Why would you want to fight other Corps if everyone gets the best rewards for camping on your sectors?

This is just a nerf to rewards in T3 Empire and Jericho. Do the devs think that making the stakes even higher for keeping T4 sectors will make them less stagnant? Well clearly they didn’t think it through very much.

To increase your income for the conquering and defending more sectors.

I can’t really complain because I stand to profit a lot from these increased rewards in sectors without activity, but this will make the “hotbed” of activity in T3 Empire/Jerry less valuable for competition, I’m afraid. Usually corporations hold sectors there for ~2 days - or almost indefinitely, because they got their defense percentage up at one point and there’s plenty of weaker sectors to conquer.

In practice, it seems what this change has done is created stagnant sectors in T3 Jericho space. T4 space has been stagnant since essentially release, and Fed and Empire T3 space have been less than incredibly active, but Jericho seems to have caught the bug, too.

Personally I would like to see the rewards the other way around. the most when you get the sector and diminishing returns for the longer you hold it. more attacks ( the real type) and sectors changing hands daily, now there is an idea to liven up the game

So, after reading a lot about the dreads and the battles, I’ve come to the conclusion that it not only need a lot of fixes, but it also need some rethinking.

Right now, you can bring players from whatever corporation to defend your sector, aside from the fact that every pub will most likely defend the sector already, what makes it very dumb for two simple reasons: #1. If you’re not in a corporation, you should not fight on dread battles and #2 If the sector owner is not there to defend it, he should not be helped by random pubs.

Bots are also a big problem, as they only die, and nothing else. It’s a total turn off to have a bot on a wing of 7 or less. Way worse than not having them and being out numbered.

On top of that, the fact that attackers may fight each other just makes it even worse. Every time we end up fighting a attacker it ruins our plans, as not only it’s working against the strategy involved but it also is misleading the whole inter corp relations.

I’ve been fighting dread battles everyday for the past two months and it’s really frustrating to have the game working backwards on that matter, as to me this is the best of this game together with Open Space. If it all comes to PvP and PvE as it looks like right now, it makes no sense the corporation campaign and effort to help new players, other than feed the game.

To wrap this post off, I have to say that the reward system don’t make it much interesting, as well. The sector capture is not the goal, but the sector camping. Smaller corporations have no chance against big corporations, especially when to defend you can bring players from different corps and you also count on the naive pubs. And as far as I read, maybe they’re not even that naive.
