Ok so basically I have a huge WoT feel about this game but it seems pretty freaking cool so im all in. Basically what I want too know is there “classed” ships like one that specifically for support or heavy damage etc… If so im looking too play the role in the group of the support ship.
Being a experinced fantasy mmo player how would you explain star conlfict in a nut shell too me?
I’d say there are two support classes in SC.
These would be the Engineer Frigates, and the Command Fighters.
Engineer Frigates carry AoE hull, shield and energy regens, as well as one-target quick heals, that target the most damaged ship in range, including yours. They can also deploy a warpgate with 5km range to quickly reposition yourself and the rest of the team. I’d suggest using the Empire frigates, as they usually have more survivability and damage output than Federation engineers, at the cost of being slightly less mobile.
Command Fighters carry passive hull and shield resistance buffs for you and allies in range, as well as an active, 10 second boost to your and your allies’ damage. I’d advise using Jericho command fighters.
Other ships have some support modules, but are not dedicated support vessels.
Tackler fighters carry a target painter, which reduces all resistances of a single target in your LoS, as well as speed related debuffs, either disabling afterburners or reducing overall speed by a percentage. Tacklers are Federation’s specialization, but Jericho also uses them.
Recon interceptors carry spy drones that reduce the target’s regen rate for both hull and shield by 50%, as well as making them visible for everyone on your team, everywhere, even if the droned ship uses invisibility.
ECM interceptors focus on disabling the weapons, modules and movement of the enemy ships.
As to explaining Star Conflict in a nutshell…
The biggest thing to get into your head is that this is not an MMO. This is a Lobby-based game. Think Battlefield, only you can’t get out of your ship.
With that said, I would summarise the game as “a spiritual successor to Colony Wars”, since that is the game I always find myself comparing Star Conflict to. 
Right on guys appericate the answers yeah it is a lot like colony wars I get a little Earth and beyond feeling out of it too really loving it though.
Don’t forget Guard frigates as a support class. They’ve got the Propulsion Inhibitor which reduces the speed of everything in range and the Missile Shield which blocks an enemy missile every 10 seconds or so. Both can be very useful for a team when defending an objective.
