what happened to flying T5?

t5 queue is horrible and you can’t do 3 mans. ping is also bad usually. that’s why i quit.

I beg to differ. Since lots of 2-mans are going in T5, 3-man squads can actually get games (at least outside of US primetime).
And honestly, I’ve stopped caring about high ping. I make sure I have at least 1 or 2 ships loaded that are easily playable in high ping. Packet loss is another story however.

Ping is still playable in the 200s. All you have to do is compensate. How do you think our SEA and SA players do it?

The best way to compensate is lots of Galvanized Armor, since high rotation speed is what makes high ping harder to play in. The ship naturally tries to realign itself to face outwards from your view, but high ping means that it continually overcorrects, which is why there are videos of players with high rotation spinning out of control for several minutes straight.
I have just the video to demonstrate this.
As to why we’re flying T3 in this game - yes, it’s because matchmaking for higher tiers doesn’t quite happen. Or, I hope it will starting now.
Tbh, i wouldn’t play if I’d consistently get around 200 ping. I like flying frigates only about as much as fighters and interceptors.
I’ve been fortunate enough to never have that high of a ping before, but that would seem pretty reasonable, yeah. RicePirateX plays with >200 ping consistently and he uses expert piloting mode. Apparently that mode is a lot better for high ping pilots.
Changes approved :012j:
I had a 200 ping game (normally 380)and it is hilarious because everyone else starts complaining because theirs is now 400 or so.

no one likes to play static games with 90% guards with destructors

I have played 16 games in t5 last night, only 2 games were pure frigball vs frigball (simply due to what map that was) and even then in one of them, after rolling that frig ball of red team into the asteroid they all went mobile ships.

I tried expert piloting mode, but there’s just something about it I don’t like. I can’t quite pin it down, but I really don’t like it.
The highest ping I get these days is 180 on RU servers (I haven’t played on a SA server in a long time, but I would imagine I get close to 300 ping on SA servers). Sure, it isn’t very easy to fly a ceptor on 180 ping for me, but I can fly most fighters and frigates.
On the note of destructor spam in T4/T5. Yes, it is annoying. Yes, some builds are OP. But they are still counterable. Especially now that 2-man squads can get games without other squads. A couple gunships can easily take down an entire team of destructor guards.

what time was that in UTC?almost every game in t5 is a frigball or recon spam (not so much) during EU prime time.
3am - 7am UTC

US players don’t frigball as much as EU/RU players than.
Try playing t5 on EU prime time you’l see what i mean.

I think it greatly depends on the gamemode. In US primetime it is far more common to see frigballs in Team Battle and Combat Recon from what I’ve found. But in CTB or domination, I would say you are correct, and that frigballs are far more common in EU primetime than US primetime. Heck, even in detonation, I see frigballs in EU primetime more than US.

It’s the lag between turning and the camera actually turning. Trust me, I had the same experience. If that delay weren’t there, I’d actually prefer expert over standard, but it’s just too much of a hassle to deal with, as it is discombobulating.

Why would i do that? As you missed the point, again, I was talking to someone who plays in MY time zone, so he should be experiencing same thing as I do, so your point is invalid.
