New game mode - Fox hunt

So I was thinking that team battle has weakness - team with careless players looses quickly. Combat recon is a fun mode but a novice cap ruins the match. So:

  1. Each team starts with X points
  2. A “Fox” player selected in each team
  3. Players know who is the Fox only in enemy team (visual mark like Cap in combat recon)
  4. When Fox is killed the team looses a point and next Fox selected (always some other player)
  5. Killing regilar player does not affect points
  6. Team with more points wins

Although I cant say for sure how good this is but the idea is to make people focus fire on single enemy while keeping all players alive

Even though this is probably a joke it actually would make an extremely fun gamemode.

 

(And when TheDarkRedFox joins one of those battles he is always the fox.)

I like the concept, but I have a few issues with it.

If the person knows he is the fox, then he can just notify his team in chat so they keep him alive.

Also if a person is chosen as fox then he could just run away in a cruise tackler or recon, and his team is guaranteed to win or draw, never lose. I like the way in combat recon, if the captain does do this then his team will likely lose on kills since they are effectively a man down.

You haven’t solved the problem of the “Ace captain” since the foxes can still feed points using a bad ship (the silent fox captain nightmare would be even more relevant…)

How would you address this?

I wonder how hard it would be to guess who are your enemies after before its too late

problem of the “Ace captain”: The idea is that if a player with weak ship is chosen - team will loose only one point and will have the chance to recuperate.

Oh I get you. Yeah that could work. However it could also be a campy gamemode, since people won’t want to take risks if they don’t know they are the fox?

So a combat recon with captain switching after his death w/o knowing you are the one? Sounds interesting!
