Need some help to build that Cutter

Hi guys !

Ive just got my hands on the Cutter.

I’ve played it a bit, and I can’t find out how to build that thing.

It seems to be able to deal extremely high amount of damage with his bonuses +3 cpu, but I have an energy problem.

And since it have a negative regen from the start, I can’t perma AB like in my kite.

Any help?

There is Energy slot… Just use it.

I put a Voltage Regulator, leaving the ship with 78 energy regen, a bit more than the afterburner use (71). Imo having a positive regen when afterburning is way more important than having an Emergency Barrier. For Engine I use 2 Vernier Engines for obvious reasons. For shield I use 2 Adaptative Shields and 1 Compact Shield Generator, leaving the ship with 630 energy instead of 339, losing 223 shield points (wich is nothing). On the CPU you can just put whatever you want depending on the weapon.

 

Imo the Compact Shield Generator is totally worthy, it allows you to use multiple modules (all 4 if you want + Plasma Web) at the same time or in quick succession. If you refuse to lose some shield for a greater energy pool you can always put a third Adaptative for a total of ~120 resists when afterburning. 

 

If you don’t like the adaptative gameplay you can always put normal resistances or raw shield.

Also what’s the question about building that thing. 3 shield + 3 cpu slots, should be obvious. Crit + guidance in the CPUs, at least EM + thermal resists in the shield slots (last one could be compact shield gen or more resists (wouldn’t do adaptive tank on that but it’s a possiblity for burst resists when you need to gtfo if you know how to manage your energy and avoid tacklers + ecm); wouldn’t recommend submatter shield either unless you really know what you’re doing but it’s always an option), energy regen in cap slot. Engine slots according to play style, rotation and/or acceleration.

disclaimer: I don’t have one, but I fly covops and that’s how I’d build that one.

How did I missed that cap slot?

Is anybody in this game not using that? Use it, there’s no alternative to it, the other two are useless.

True, I will do it.

I used to play only ships that already have afterburners reduction cost, but since I don’t anymore, I’ll swap. Thanks for the advice.

If I ever get to play mine I’ll let you know… Never get a t4 match.

If you use EB in that ship you will live a nightmare because you have 10 more energy consume than regen. Also A1MA needs 150 energy to activate, wich is half the total energy pool of any Cov Ops. 

 

So you pretty much need a mandatory Compact Shield Generator + positive energy regen if you want to use A1MA keep flying without stopping the afterburn.

i noticed the energy problem, and was a bit sad, i would not be able to use an EB, heatsink or similar.

but then i just thought…

3 shield slots? 3 adaptives. but i would probably go for snibs recommendation for start.

at least one vernier is a good choice. two verniers is an obvious choice.

one cpu for proton wall might be a good idea.

but 3 cpus means you should at least try anything x 3 (shrapnel+spread reduction, rf blaster + 3xTTC, 3 proton walls…)

because why not.
