Need some feedback on my Styx engi ship

Hello,

It’s been about 6 months since I last played Star Conflict and I want to check up if my Styx still has the best mods on it with all the new balance changes:

Weapon: Heavy Blaster

Munitions: Xenon lamp

Engine Modifier: Auxilliary Generator

Capacitator modifier: Acceleration Coils

Shield modifier: Thermal modulator

Hull modifier: 2X Armor-plated hull and 1X Galvanized armor

CPU Modifier: Electronic Guidance

Active modules: All 3 support auras (shield, hull and energy) and the hull repair station

Missiles: Attack Drones

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Weapon: Heavy Blaster

Any of the weapon work quite well for Styx

Munitions: Xenon lamp

Use flat reflector

Engine Modifier: Auxilliary Generator

No point sacrificing energy regen for that tiny boost of speed

Capacitator modifier: Acceleration Coils

Best use of an energy slot

Shield modifier: Thermal modulator

Hull modifier: 2X Armor-plated hull and 1X Galvanized armor

Reliable buffer tank

CPU Modifier: Electronic Guidance

Definitely**  need this as majority of heavy blaster’s dmg is lost in spread**

Active modules: All 3 support auras (shield, hull and energy) and the hull repair station

Typical healing setup

Missiles: Attack Drones

Good choice

I use the Auxilliary Generator cause the energy regen aura compensates for it. I barely have energy problems anyway.

Capacitor Modifier: The Acceleration Coils on the Heavy Blaster are a bit of a waste, as the projectile speed on that weapon is quite high already. Plus, with three Auras active, you’ll be hurting for energy. I’d recommend the Voltage Regulator instead.

Munitions: I would replace the Xenon Lamp with a High-Frequency Oscillator, as the Heavy Blaster has a bit of a cycle-up like a Gatling gun. You’ll want to be able to hold fire at max cycle for as long as possible to minimize the gun’s down time.

CPU Modifier: Electronic Guidance could work very well with the Heavy Blaster’s shotgun-like spread. However, as you probably don’t want to be too close to the action, a Horizon Module might work better. If you plan on doing more healing than shooting, go for the Proton Wall, so you can keep your heal Auras up.

Engine Modifier: Auxiliary Generator will drain your energy too fast if you are running all of your support Auras. If you want speed, go for the Catalyst Injector (slower, but doesn’t drain energy). I would personally go for the Collision Compensator, as it boost both rotation and strafe speeds, and will keep you from taking lots of damage from the rocks you will end up hugging.

Hull Modifier: 2x Galvanized and 1x Armor-plated hull will help you survive longer, and won’t slow you down as much as your current setup. Resistance is usually superior to volume.

Everything else looks good to me.

Capacitor Modifier: The Acceleration Coils on the Heavy Blaster are a bit of a waste, as the projectile speed on that weapon is quite high already. Plus, with three Auras active, you’ll be hurting for energy. I’d recommend the Voltage Regulator instead.

Energy emitter is enough regen to keep the other two aura active and Styx’s natural regen is enough to afterburn infinitely.

Horizon on a heavy blaster with no electronic guidance is just a waste of DPS, you might aswell use another weapon

Hull Modifier: 2x Galvanized and 1x Armor-plated hull will help you survive longer, and won’t slow you down as much as your current setup. Resistance is usually superior to volume.

In terms of tanking, resistance is usually superior. But the difference is not big and I personally prefer to have less speed than less rotation.

Again fellas, I have 0 energy problems! even with all th auras running, my energy aura helps me out enough

You don’t need a styx. Bring an anaconda. Heuheuheu

Valor’s the best in T3.

Hello,

It’s been about 6 months since I last played Star Conflict and I want to check up if my Styx still has the best mods on it with all the new balance changes:

Weapon: Heavy Blaster

Neat.

Munitions: Xenon lamp

I’d go with more or less any other ammo, but xenon lamp isn’t bad itself.

Engine Modifier: Auxilliary Generator

I’d change this to vernier to help compensate for the galvanized armor. You’re in an empire frigate, you’re not going anywhere.

Capacitator modifier: Acceleration Coils

As previously stated, this is a bit of a waste on the heavy blaster. It doesn’t really need faster projectiles. Save that for coil mortar or positrons.

Shield modifier: Thermal modulator

Not a half bad choice.

Hull modifier: 2X Armor-plated hull and 1X Galvanized armor

I’d have gone with 2 galvanized and one armor plated, but the choice is really yours.

CPU Modifier: Electronic Guidance

An absolute must have for heavy blaster.

Active modules: All 3 support auras (shield, hull and energy) and the hull repair station

This is more or less what every engineer should have. Unless you’ve got it all planned out with a squad beforehand.

Missiles: Attack Drones

I’d have gone with EM torpedo, better to deal with an annoying covert ops trying to plasma arc you. Not a bad choice, though, especially if you stay with your team.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.
