I am running Star Conflict on a late 2008 Apple Macbook Pro 15 in. Every now and again when there are either a lot of people firing at once or simply a lot of targets on screen, sections of my screen begin to disappear in a black square or rectangle. I have 8 GB of RAM and two video cards: an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and a GeForce 9600M GT. It isn’t a big issue, but it is recurrent when I play Scenario mode.

Sounds like an artifact issues. You can check your videocard temperature while playing, if it go sky high, then i can suggest to get improved hardware, your current GPUs are quite outdated/weak. Also updating drivers could help.
