While fighting a team of pirates earlier, I thought it would be cool to send out my own team of fighters. They could be told to attack specific targets like only transports or only pirates or only friendlies and could take loot for you. I had a massive paper written up about this potential feature and how it could work without being way OP, but because ios 8 hates safari now it froze and erased the whole damn thing. Anyways, I think this would be fun to implement for players so we don’t just have the same teams of pirates and the same teams of ships and the same bounty hunters flying around. This would make them less farmable and slightly more profitable for players in the long-run if their team was selected. Ofcourse, the higher the level of the pilot, the closer to frontier sectors they will get. The ships shouldn’t matter, just the pilot rank. Players could select wether or not they wanted their team to appear in invasion. This feature should also only be active when players are online just so it doesn’t swamp the system trying to put every single pilot’s team in to the game. Teams selected will be ships from the pilot’s active hangar slots to make sure the ships are actually useable. X3
So would these be like your own BOTs or something. Sounds hard to control and fly at the same time. How would you manage that?

Give each bot an objective. When the objective is complete it does nothing then. When you switch to another ship it is vulnerable to attack.

If they were just bigger version of drones then it may work… But then it’s just bigger drones and not a real AI.
No I mean instead of a group of pirates spawning in invasion, someone’s active squad would be selected or something. You do not actively control them. You just tell them what to Attack and what not to, then let them do their AI job until they get shot down.
Aggressive: Attacks anything that moves and steals everything in sight. (Pirate)
Defensive: Tries not to get in a fight and will only attack if attacked. Will flee if enough damage is done. (Miniers/explorers)
Passive: Only attacks a specific target but will openly attack anything if it shoots first. (Bounty hunters/Mercenaries)
You could always play an engineer with 4 drones, and get the same results.
Otherwise, gonna have to put a big no on this one Ender.

Well it still looks sorta like it. I just hope that the ships you send are the exact ships you send. Not some pitiful copy. And I hope I can see my ships in-flight! X3
