So this is my first time writing here, um this weekend i have ended up buying 6900GS for real money in order to spend it on the spatial scanner. Once i got the spatial scanner i flew around for about 4 hours give or take and found the most BS loot (sorry for swearing) and the loot took ages to find, i propose or strongly advice that you put more of the spatial scanner loot in openspace cos im rarely finding them and to me it feels like a waste of 20£ in order to buy this!
Put this here since the subject was already started.
Dearest Devs,
Have the Spatial loot parameters been changed? I just flew my regular route Raider- Muerto - Smugglers for about an hour and a half. During that time 6 computer chips 3 processing blocks, 1 screened, and one mk4 pirate shield BP.
What gives? I haven’t seen a light cell in over two weeks and mk5 BPs appear to just be gone.
Am I just having a bad run or has there been a change.
We are seeing more players join up. One would think the drop rates would be increased.
As always, Thank you for your reply
I do much more efficiently in an hour and a half (part of it has to do that i farm containers when population is low), i get at least 1 T5 BP (from 30 containers rough aprox), but drop is definately worse than what it used to be. Its frustrating to usually find screened batteries (wich have no use at all but to pile up in armory), processing blocks, chips, T4 pirate BPs (those worth 20k credits), etc. If we consider than a single player can farm all 4 frontier sectors, and that even when picking all containers for himself he rarely finds something usefull, yeah, drop rate of usefull stuff should be increased, or allow faster mysterious container respawn/multiple containers in a single map (spawn places should be also harder to find and not just 2-3 fixed places everyone memorizes fast; that should make pilots wonder if they have scanned the area properly or not, instead of wondering if containers are about to spawn or someone else already took it).
While I also own a Spatial Scanner (special event sale), and agree that the secret container loot is largely crap, there is a bigger problem.
Open Space is completely pointless for players without one of these scanners! Sure you have your daily missions, but why bother trying to mine raw materials or find good loot? Drop rates and loot value is absolute garbage. There is absolutely nothing that open space contributes.
It really seems like the developers are so scared of giving nice things because that would ease the game’s grind. And if they eased the game’s grind, they’d lose money. So instead they removed all the nice stuff you could get during Open Space launch, and stuffed them into CLOAKED CONTAINERS hidden in the most obscure locations. And as you have noticed, even that was too generous in their mind, so they nerfed the drop rates to crap.
Yeah, I’m slightly bitter.
Invasion in it’s current state is useless, except for golden missions and farming minerals for crafting.
A couple of weeks ago, I spent a whole afternoon (4 hours) searching for blueprints. I must have found only 5-6 t4 BPs and one t5. The rest was useless stuff.
But the thing that makes me the most bitter is getting crap loot from killing very hard targets. 10k credits for spending 15 minutes killing a hunter/predator is just simply ridiculous. I would expect at least iridium or vouchers, or even small GS awards.
Agree with millanbel and SoldiersFortune
All hidden container spots are staying picked clean. All I’m seeing is these days is yellow, green and red hues on the spatial scanner everywhere I go, all the time. I think the idea was to instigate dogfights over it, but screened batteries aren’t worth fighting over.

Interesting that you mentioned the screened batteries, as my spatial loot of late has not had one light cell…but has been full of chips and batteries. I have not seen a light cell in weeks, and I only use the spatial in level 10 sectors. When Dreads was released they destroyed the Spatial Loot, then they fixed it. I trust they will get the numbers back where they need to be for frequency and type.

I agree with this. Killing a predator is a really hard feat. Getting a 14k credit “alien space generator” is like… why should I try?
I remember when Hunters gave you 30 iridium on average.
Most ways of farming NPC were already nerfed. Drones are almost useless now, LRF cloak was nerfed, and still, the drop loot has been reduced to practically nothing.
Why should I go to open space when I can win 700k credits in 10 minutes doing PvE, with minimal brain functions and spamming pulsar?
I recommend that devs take a look at the loot numbers and bring them back to the invasion launch.
PS: Also I won’t talk about removing all the big loot pieces to mysterious container only.
i’d be fine with this if they added a version you can buy with vouchers and iridium or something. Whether it’s as good or not would be up for debate, of course.
As far as making money in invasion goes, I do all right. I also know what I’m doing, so there’s that.

Been trying to get some blueprints lately, and I just can’t put my finger on what is different.
It’s almost like the detection range of the scanner was nerfed. I was flying all around an area looking for a blue ping for almost 30 minutes, cycling it on and off to see if one would spawn. Nothing.
Left the sector and came back almost an hour later and tried the same thing. Suddenly a faint blue ping showed up, but it must have been only 3,000 meters away before it detected it. Then, even stranger, despite hovering directly over the location, the container refused to appear! I had to circle the blasted asteroid three times to check the location, only to discover that I hadn’t flown close enough to the container!
I tried to check, but I seemed the container refused to uncloak until I was within 150 meters. In other words, practically touching it with my ship’s nose.
And for my effort I got a Processing Block.
If Open Space isn’t even rewarding for players who have caved and bought the blasted Scanner, what is the point for the average player? Why should they bother when all of the nice loot is impossible (no, a ~200 meter detection radius does not count) to find without a cash-only module? And even then, why should they bother paying for this module if the loot is still garbage? WHY?

Detection range, color intensity, etc. is all the same. Maybe now you have to reveal containers 50m closer…it doesnt really matters, once you see the blue lines in the radar, the container is yours if no one is around. No offense, but it seems you could use some more practice (i use some zoom to identify better the colors; that allows me to notice the faint blue and combinations near to max range (6km)). BTW, most of the times the container is not present in the map (it needs some time to respawn), which in my personal experience is the reason why i usually dont find them (fly a place 2-3 times, from 2km or less distance from container spawn, nothing. Then some minutes later fly in the exact same path and magic there are the blue lines. Or also (a frecuent one), fly near a container spawn place, dont see any blue bar while being at less than 6km from the spot, aproach a little more to the spot and then suddenly see how radar shows strong and clear blue bars: container has just spawned).
But i totally agree with the next thing you say:
And for my effort I got a Processing Block.

Mysterious containers are impossible to get without spatial scanner and almost impossible to find them after youve used spatial scanner for some while (only achievable for easy places where the point of reference is pretty clear). And yes, drop is pretty bad even after you purchase spatial scanner and learn how to use it efectively.
