I noticed yesterday and the days before that when I play on Russian servers (I’m located on US West coast) with a ping of at least 210ms that unguided missiles from an interceptor don’t shoot straight. The enemy ship is right in front of my and the missile goes of in a 20-30 degree angle from where I aimed at.
Okay sure its my fault using an Inty in this poor performing game on a high ping server. But 70+% of the time I’m on high ping Russian/European servers.
sometimes it seems that the missile hit the target even though visually it didn’t look like it.
Yeah, on the Russian server (ping 140), my rockets don’t go in the direction I clicked. It’s sometimes bad enough that I miss stationary frigates.
Under 100 ping it’s hardly noticeable.
its delay from when u press the button and when the server recieves it. like you said, 200 ping + can make ur game a bit tricky and bounce a bit.
regular players learn how to play more effective with laggs and without, we call it skills, not complaining*
didn’t you read the post i made about ping?
and yes its ur fault putting matchmaker to “all servers” when you actually play t3 where there is a bounch of players and can actually just choose USA wich fixes ur problem. thats why we have it. if you are in squad its mixed and or just based on squad leader.
-Meh

There was nothing to read about in your post in relation to this issue. Other games handle high ping much better than Star Conflict!
Wow there really is a selection about which server I can get on? Why haven’t I thought of that for the past 3 months? HOW STUPID DO THINK WE ARE???
I explained the server selection issue/mechanic in another post. If you are too stupid to understand that is not my problem.
I stopped using pulse lasers because at high enough ping I was “missing” shots where I could see it landing dead on.

Uhh, no. What times do you play? Because I guarantee you I get Russian servers in T3.
Late evening and thoughout the night east coast usa will get russian servers frequently regardless of what region you set.
As stated (probably by Enny as he says he touched on it, cannot recall who exactly) region settings don’t lock a player into only servers in that region.
The russian server pings from eastern usa are stated ingame as ~140 - ~250 depending on the server’s physical location, but the delay in response to input is much longer I’ve noticed. It could use improvement, though haven’t done any traceroutes to see if packetloss may account for any of it.
For you missiles, or any weapon, I’d suggest leaving your ret over your target until the missile fires ingame. I do pve, so have the luxury of time, so in pvp it may cost some damage if evading at the same time
I can fly straight it still shoots holes in space/air. I have never seen such poor weapons behavior in any other games with high ping.

It’s not just weapons - there comes a point where you cannot even fly straight. The only other game which comes to mind was MechWarrior Online with their single server in Canada, but they did eventually fix that issue and now you can shoot and hit straight with any ping really.
