Mining, Trading and other things to do

Would you like ot see Mining, Trading and other things to do added to this game?

In a WoT-style space combat game? No thanks, I’ll play EVE if I want to mine and trade.

Since this are elements of an open world game it is hard to use them on Star Conflict. But we hope to find a good solution.

why not make a scenario out of the mining/archological team escorting mission, simulare to a horde mode or clan/guild combat mode.

PvP will not dissapear with mining and crafting and all that. Stop being so extreme, jeez…

I’m not. What I’m also not doing is trying to make Star Conflict into something it is not. To transform it into an open world MMO, which is what you want it to be, at this stage of development would necessitate going back to the very beginning and building it again from the ground up. But you don’t seem to understand that. You can’t just shoehorn an open world model into an instance-based skirmish dogfighter.

I wonder… I think I actually would like this. I mean Mining - for sure, as long as you can craft something from them, or gain some kind of skills (even mining skills would do (faster harvesting, long range harvesting, etc.)). But I would like for it to be still combat-based, what I mean is going harvesting while being in PvP map. Let’s say you would have to go stealthily and harvest some stones that can be found at enemy’s base, or even collect energies from those A,B,C sectors/nodes/bunkers or however they are called.

Perhaps this can be the basic for a new match type.

Lets say you get into a sector with two teams like in normal battle.

For example the frigate will be the mining ship: It gets special lasers which can get ores out asteroids when you shot them until the storage of the frigate is full.

After that you need to bring your frigates back to a save point.

Sort of like a capture the flag mode?

perhaps something like the “push the cart” mode in TF2. You could make it either an escort mission or a supply train/convoy kind of scenario… here’s one idea (off the top of my head, probably needs work):

Round 1:

Team A controls a base that is dispatching cargo vessels(bots) on route to another sector/jump point/whatever. Team B spawns from various asteroid/cover surrounding the trade lane. The trip takes ~5 mins, and every 3 minutes a new ship is launched (3 or 4 total, = 12 or 15 minute max round time), the overlap keeps everyone from snowballing around the one cargo ship. The round ends when the last ship reaches the target or is destroyed.

Round 2:

Map resets and the teams reverse positions. When Round 2 ends, the team who destroyed the most cargo ships wins. If tied, the total damage done to all cargo ships decides the winner. If still tied, match is a draw.

yes as a game mode it would probably work well if i wanted open world mining i would play Black Prophecy.
