Massive price difference US <-> UK

The UK prices on premium cash are about 1/3 higher than the US prices for the same amount. I have paid money to support this game, but if this isn’t addressed, I won’t bring myself to spend more if I’m being charged 30% more than I should be paying. And don’t use tax or something as an excuse - we obviously don’t have 30% import taxes. Get your stuff together Gaijin!

Same goes for EU, the prices are the same for both, just a different symbol so EU people pay a lot more than UK.

32.39 GBP = 38.37 EUR. So, you’re still getting a better deal if it’s 37.5 euros for that, though again it’s still worse than the Americans. But as usual, the UK gets the worst prices of anyone.

You know that, for a product sold worldwide, prices are not a simple conversion using the exchange rates, right?

Still 29.25€ vs 37.50€ :frowning:

for physical goods, with shipping, etc, sure. for a digital download which doesn’t have separate servers per-country, why? it doesn’t cost them an extra £8 for the number of yellow pixel money on my screen to increase by 15000. because that’s all it is, a digital number. not even an extra download that costs bandwidth. someone must make a stand for equality!

It’s obviously Greece’s fault.

Indeed. Because of Greece, EUR actually deprecated a bit in relation to USD. Without it, we’d be paying even more in relation to those paying in USD.

greece has nothing to do with it. euros are irrelevant. why is pound sterling being so overcharged? just fix your prices

bump to the top. this thread needs some official response, I know it’s easter holiday but tomorrow someone will be in office…

No, Euros aren’t irrelevant. The question is just as good and important no matter what currency you put in it, why is currency X charged so much more than currency Y?

You won’t get a good answer though and you won’t get a change. We never did from any other dev or publisher.

You’d think with the devs not being from the US this would have been less likely to happen, guess not…

Because this difference isn’t related to shipping fees. Cost of life isn’t a strict conversion using exchange rates. That’s the way it is : don’t ask the developers of Star Conflict why, since it’s the same thing for many other games.

We aren’t talking about steam prices or something which they can’t always control. This is prices that the devs set in their own personal store. So asking why I have to pay 1/3 more because of my location is completely reasonable. Hopefully Error can message one of them about it soon…

Virtual goods cost next to zero to sell.  They probably figured the prices at the point where they’d make the most money.  UK players are probably more likely to spend more.  You guys know America is broke, right?  Recreational spending isnt what it used to be.  So if you owned the business, do you want more profit from having some sales?  …or would you rather it be “fair”?

Funny thing is, I remember 10-15 years ago where the reverse argument was made in Eve Online.  Why are people paying more in the US (given the conversion rate at the time)

It happens.

all world currencies need to die…the universal republic credit needs to finally exist…everybody uses money, so why not?
