No flaming or trolling here, please. Give your opinions on which one you prefer to use, and why. By all means, make counterposts, but don’t let this dissolve into a flame war. We have enough of those.
Personally, I prefer PC. They’re just more flexible, don’t cost as much and are generally better for gaming. The new Mac Pro does look very interesting, but I think I’ll stick to PCs for now.
Anyhow, I’m a PC user myself. Mac gamers don’t even exist. Its a simple fact that PCs deliver more firepower at a lower price than macs do, and suffer less from compatibility issues.
Macs? They’re good if want to do art stuff I guess…

Mmm. I think they were designed primarily for music, art, animation and the suchalike. Seriously, if they just made even one Mac that gives gaming support or just added it to the Mac Pro I would buy it.
And I didn’t actually want this to be a troll thread. I’m serious when I ask: which do you prefer and why?
I suggest PC some games that you need to download fails with Mac, and also I am an artist who is making arts i don’t really think making arts with PC is hard, it is pretty easy when you’ll learn how to use it.
I prefer PC for gaming (for now), but I prefer Mac for school and miscellaneous usage.
I am thinking of checking out custom computers to see if I can get a good mixture of all features.
Mac. I got my current MacBook Pro 3 years ago, and she hasn’t given me any problems yet. Most Windows computers I use get cranky after a while… not that it’s an issue, because I have a friend who’s one hell of a tech wizard. He has been helping me fix my computers since I knew him more than a decade ago, until I joined the dark side got a Mac.
I pick mac because they don’t get virus’s – sarcasm-- PC, because you cant build a mac…
Justin
I’m no tech expert, but I reckon if you have the expertise you could buy the required hardware and install the OS.

I need my Final Cut Pro (and sometimes Avid Pro Tools). Final Cut Pro is the industry standard here so I don’t really have a choice. Though, to be honest, I’ll still stick to a Mac even if I don’t require any video or sound editing apps.

Yeah, pretty much the same here. I have had my Mac since July of 2008 and it is still going strong (minus an issue with the fan that was really my fault)
This is such a troll bait thread I dont even…

Mac Gamers do exist. In the past 8 months or so Mac gaming has gotten pretty big. Although I still prefer PC for gaming (so far), I think that may change soon. The Mac gaming community is getting bigger and bigger and they are going to have to cater to gamers.

However, it is undeniable that a PC will - most of the time - outdo a Mac when gaming. They’re just more versatile, and you can optimise them for it. Macs are closed systems so you get what you’re given; not much room for tweaking to your preferences.
The problem is there are a LOT of games out there that simply do not support macs (probably out of lazyness, easier to just stick with the biggest OS). For this reason alone I won’t consider a mac computer, unless I intend to run windows on it.
This has already become a “lets trash talk macs” thread, haha
Not really. I simply offered a small fact: PCs are better for gaming in general, but when it comes to music, art, and design then you reallyccan’t get much better than a Mac.

A while back a friend of mine was asking me how much space my Steam games took up. He’s a Windows user and we play a handful of games that are Windows and Mac friendly. We found that his games were usually either half the size of mine, or double.
If you make a single game for both pc and mac it’s gonna end up with 20Gb+. That’s game engine alone. This is why they split installations for pcs and macs.
At home i have a desktop PC and a MacBook Pro 13 as well I can say really one thing. PC is for true gamers and people that need to use sophisticate software for rendering or drawing projects that simply aren’t compatible with OS X (which i use since i am an civil engineering student)
For everything else (art, music, editing video) i have my Mac
And maybe it is just myself but i like more the Mac interface, it feels more user friendly. Sort of everything is where you would expect it to be. And very intuitive as well.
