So, because I have a r12 Engineer, I will not be able to earn any vouchers if I build a r11 destroyer?
These missions specify that the maximum rank ship be used, and so I feel stuck that I must always use this one and only ship, because years ago I only progressed in a straight line with frigates.

Indeed. I do not like this updated system. Each new update introduced something flawed or illogical so far.
They should just specify rank range of wider variety. If you’re a rank 15, you can do contracts with any ship of a rank 13-15. That’s how it used to be.
The idea to control player behavior by even further narrow down special requirements and increase the number thereof for assignments/missions is just … #!&X$F§# … flawed ![:4880bbba85e9:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/4880bbba85e9.png “:4880bbba85e9:”)
Seeing how some players boast with scores in lower ranks, i think it’s okay but it needs more work deff, it should be less not zero if playing outside the requirements.

Well regardless of what is said or believed, the base aspect of the game at the moment is “You either have fun, or make progress. You can’t do both.”
Of course with the exception of those people who have everything and have the mentality of “I have a higher rank ship so I can just forget all of my lower ships forever.”
And anyone who says T5 is still fun needs a kick in the pants.
Destroyers: Useless.
Standard ships: Underpowered.
Thar’Ga: Everywhere.
Secret Projects: Neglected.

nice things that enable more diverse game play and more diverse tactics like
- Bastion shield (Reaper (guard, rank8, federation)
- Phoenix drones (Phoenix, rank8, empire)
- WL13 Emitter (Brokk, r13, empire)
- Frontal Shield (Dart, rank 11, Jericho)
are restricted to special ships which are fixed to certain ranks … meh²

I can only confirm this. It’s sad, but that happens almost every match now. Squad of 3-4 people, usually NASA, only in Thar’Gas.
And destroyers are so pointless now that I might as well just not carry any modules. I never get to use them aside from 15 seconds in to the game because as soon as a covie sees me, I lose them all. Not to mention the massive wait time after you die in the first minute of the game.

Regular ships have 15 sec. cool-down time.
I think that all Ellydium ships should have 30 sec. cool-down time.
Destroyers have 45 sec. cool-down time.

Cooldown times should be universal. Let’s just make every ship have a cooldown of 25s. That way, destroyers get in faster and Ellydiums get in slower. All’s well. XD
