I’m having a lot of lower level players who wait for me to kill things and then swoop in and take the loot before I can get to it. I can’t hit them or start a war because they are protected in some zones. I would like the ability to challenge them when they steal loot within a certain radius from me and my solo kill.

I agree on put a 30 second or so timer on loot, or make it in a way that the loot is only lootable to the person does the most damage.

So you guys already managed to get most of open space turned into PVE zones, and yet it’s still not enough for you? This makes me sad.

Exactly (if it’s not a safe zone of course)! Also don’t use a long range, that way they won’t be faster than you.

It’s not just about lower level ships doing it though. It’s hardly fair for a lone Frigate pilot to brawl with 3-4 aliens and kill them, coming very close to death in the process, only for a Recon to rush in and steal all the loot while he’s still fighting the last guy.

That’s true, in a proper PVP game the recon would just be able to kill the frigate instead of having to content itself with stealing the loot. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s the downside when you bring a frig. You have to contend with smaller ships. Give interceptors 6 cargo slots and then I’ll agree with you. You can’t expect to bring this big hulking ship and not have to deal with looters. And anyway if you’re in a frig you can just pop your mines, pulsar+mass propulsion or drones since the inty needs to sit in the same spot for a few seconds. If you don’t want other solo players stealing your loot then bring a squad/wing. I enjoy PvE as much as the next person, but loot timers in open world is pretty carebearish.

No this is a way to solve an obvious oversight and enable the player to protect his loot with “PVP”

I hate to say it, but I think you’re right. After the put Station Protection in Water Harvest, I lost hope that Invasion wouldn’t baby pilots silly enough to fly into high-level sectors. (Off-topic rant, sorry.)

Interesting idea, thank you. The loot stealing shouldn’t be prohibited but it has to be punished. The player who stole the loot should get a status of offender. We’ll review the suggestion.

nah loot theft should make it so that you lose station protection and it doesn’t hurt karma to kill you. but you should be able to still warp away.

To answer your question “most” means in this case “too many”. Only the low tier zones with bad loot should be safe zones. To get the better loot, some element of risk should be involved. I disagreed when the devs first made those “safe zone paths” out of each faction’s territory into the middle sectors, seeing that this would simply increase farming and reduce PVP possibilities in Invasion.

As for this loot theft thing, I don’t think it is necessary. Stealing loot from other pilots (be they alive or dead by your hand) is all part of the fun of Invasion. Otherwise we might as well all get out our spades and pitchforks and go dig up some potatoes and turnips, for all the fun that farming brings.
