simple question, why? what the reason?_

LRF had a major nerf not too long ago that essentially killed It for a while. Guards have always been super tough. I don’t see why the damage nerf on guards though. The LRF is the one that gets an automatic +50% damage.

Another Guard nerf. I am happy now that I can call the Guard useless.

They are not useless, but too many people were using them with the engi healing now at great levels you can heal a guard fairly quickly. Plenty of people do all use them and they are still tough

Guard has been OP for quite a while now – ever since destructor was introduced, really, so it’s been OP for about nine and a half months. Since then, we’ve had nerfs to the guard healing modules, plus the new nerfs to the guard special module, and finally a good nerf to the destructor. Honestly, it’s a bit much, and I can understand that guard pilots might feel a bit miffed, especially since the latter two nerfs happened all at once. However, guard is still far from underpowered. It’s still a hell of a tank with the new engineer modules, even with the guard heal and special module nerf. It can’t deal quite as much damage as it used to with the special module bonus, but pulsar and MPI are still as good as ever. And if anyone complains about the new destructor being underpowered, I will throw a 2x4 at them.

Take Invasion Cybers and Pirates into account.

They will eat your ship, especially if you’re flying solo!

Guard is no Invasion ship.

It’s not supposed to handle 5 ships on its own.

I can agree to an extent with the phase shield resistances reduction, but the damage reduction is just punishing good guard players.

 

Now everyone will just use the phase shield as a glorified EM diffuser, because switching the phase shield won’t give you almost any benefits.
