Like the title says, I want to link my Gaijen and Steam account but I don’t know how. Ive been playing through steam.

It seems you get the option when first logging in but not really afterwards? Not obvious, anyway.
Yes, it is quite obvious. When you are entering the game for the first time you are asked whether you want to link your account to Gaijin acc, or to create an entirely new one. If you choose the latter you are creating a new account which is then automatically linked to your steam account. And yes, you only get to choose once, there is a special notification for this too.
I used the option to create a new account - so i can login straight from Steam. (Plus I didn’t have a Gaijin account yet as I haven’t played any of the other games)
However, that login is not recognised by Gaijin or the forums - I had to register myself completely independently from the game.
I’m thus a little confused by your response as it suggests that this process should have created an account for me with Gaijin as well as the game? Is there a duplicate ‘me’ floating around?
Srry for bump it but i usually cant log from my account through steam anymore and idk why now is asking me to input usernames which in steam was just direct login any help?
Bump, because relevant. I downloaded the game not through steam but from the developer, made account etc. But now i would like to play through steam, and i thought it would be nice to use the steam acc. But no option, only “Use current Steam account” and a Login button. What to do?
Ok, found the info on the support side:
You are able to link your Gaijin account with existing Steam account only if you have not log in to the game using Gaijin account at all.
My question is: why is that?
well for me problem never ask me to link account…
i start play from steam on the beggining never ask to create account then sometime ask to create one but … never offer me to link it
now from time to time … cant autologin from steam so start with 0 progres then i must wait 1 day or 2 then can log from steam and continue with full progress again
is there are solution? to that

Yes, you can link your steam and gaijin accounts through a more sane method now. Login through steam, then click “menu”, and then click the button that says something to the order of “link accounts”. I don’t know if this might work for you, seeing as you now have two conflicting accounts, but try it.
