I love it but instead of a module, it just needs to be a “switch on/off ship” hotkey. Where shields, modules, weapons, missiles and engines are turned off at the gain of extra regen/reload time and you are cloaked like an LRF. You are left drifting if you turn your ship off mid-flight.
No, you shouldn’t be able to do it mid-flight. It needs time and preparation, and should force the player to be a sitting duck since it could be OP if you could still move or “drift.”
Plus, the ship wouldn’t handle as you are used to, since the inertial thrusters would be inactive. I don’t think the game has this kind of physics anyways.
I’m not sure I like this idea. I’m not a fan of anything that risks slowing the game down to a static crawl, and unfortunately that’s what I see here.
The game works best when it’s fast-paced, with lots of activity throughout. Plus, we already have enough problems with LRFs who refuse to leave spawn; the last thing we need is a bunch of other classes landing in stupid places and “camping” for the whole match.

I had the same initial feelings as you. However, I think it will not make the game very static. I doubt this feature would be spammed, because of the risks.
