Killing Biomorph makes me an outlaw.

Yesterday i was doing a mission in Service shop. As usual, Biomorph spawned and started to wreak things. I tried to kill them off as they started to retreat. Another player was nearby but we never traded any shots, we only were trying to kill the biomorphs before they jump away. Then bang, the remaining biomorph warp away and we both get the outlaw status. We both avoid combat and go our separate ways… Funny thing, a transport warp in and it’s escort tell me i’m breaking the law and start chasing me down all the while telling me to stop shooting and all (never shot at them).

Seem to me there are still a few bugs when station protection is off…

Edit:  I was flying a tackler, the other guy was flying an Interceptor, neither of us were using drones. As far as i can tell, none of our shots ever got close from each other, we got our status from shooting the biomorphs, not because we have accidentally hit each others.

If you are using drones and have station protection off, and the drones accidentally hits a friendly you become a criminal.

Aura missiles, like slowing missiles or energy drain missiles also count as aggressions.

Please, avoid shitposting on the Bug Report Section.

I know, but in this case i’m pretty sure there was no friendly fire. I never got shot at, i did not shoot the other guy, we did not use any AOE or drones; we got the status when the biomorphs warped out/died, not while we were trying to kill them.

That is what game logs are for

Unfortunately, i still don’t know how to use them (and i guess, too late now to bring them up).

Alright, i’ll try to do that next time i run into a bug (they are fortunately rare as far as i can tell).

Game logs are kept for somewhere around a week. I don’t know the exact number, but they’re there for a while.

Now the real challenge is figuring out the log i need to send. What’s inside each log seem a bit cryptic, i can’t find the one including the fight with those biomorphs…

Alright, i looked at the logs and it seem i destroyed a policeship… Well, i didn’t shoot at one as far as i know but i may have splashed one when i fired a missile at one of the biomorphs. When that policeship died, i was credited the kill even if i did not kill it myself. Other possibility though is the game lagged…

Alright, here the logs i was looking for using the time i was awarded my Outlaw achievement.

The thing happened at 20:37, here the logs.

That’s probably the most likely explanation. If you do so much as a single point of damage to someone and they die five minutes later, then you’re credited with the kill. It’s rather silly, but it’s true.

For any bugreport you should attach a log file.
