Kill Stealing

your only proving his point. please take your rage elsewhere.

You sir are the rag. I am defending myself. I started this topic so you can go elsware.

What I see is a failure of reconizing what the underlying issue is.

The OP is trying to make this point: Some people are not getting compensated for the amount of effort they put in. The current system is flawed and needs to be tweaked. If you do 50% damage you should be rewarded for the amount you do. If those people want to xxxxx about it, start another thread,

I was playing and did more then 90% of the damage, then another teammate finished the guy off and only gave me 60 pts for assist? How about 90 as intended? That’s what really needs to be fixed.

To: AlphaGator if you worry about kill stealing in team game where your kills doesnt matter but the overall team score is important i suggest you go and play a solo oriented game, in a team game KS means “Kill secured” your team got a kill that is important, ussualy i see ppl with with 0 kills and tons of assists have more points then the people with the most kills.

oh i beg your pardon, deeply sorry there chap. let me go take my unending “rag” elsewhere…

I get allot of assists in games, and I usually am in the top 3 of the score board.

I just shoot at them until they are gone, if they are gone I move on.

I dare say people who don’t care about who gets the kill will be more likely to contribute to the team effort and play their role, thus will usually end up with more points than those who focuses on getting kills.

Damage assists give 80% of kill score. Debuff assists are worth 60% and buff assists 30%.

Experience you get for kills, which is the only thing that kills matter for SCALES with damage done.

What is the issue?

In LoL, having the correct killer matters because kills empower the killer for the duration of the match. In here, they do not.

i love flying around a beacon and get ~5-10 assits just for being there and maybe 1-2 kills  and while in other games (mwo for example) kill stealing is pure faggotry, here it’s help. here you can’t disable someones weapons (well, you can, for some seconds but you can’t destroythe module) and people can be healed so it doesn’t matter who killed them, it matters that they are dead in the end. and who cares if you lose 20 points because someone took “your kill” if you can get a massive amount of assists with your modules? just be where the fight is, help your mates and your counter will rise without limit

Pilots play more defensively at lower HP thresholds or when their shields have dropped. It can often take more ‘skill’ to pin down and finish a wounded interceptor than it is to strip his shields in the initial merge when he is not attempting to evade a suprise raking pass.

For this reason, it’s good to use missiles to secure kills.

My Hawk-M often gets shield-stripped or taken to critical HP, but that’s what the emergency barrier, phase modulator and allied frigates are for.

I dare say people who don’t care about who gets the kill will be more likely to contribute to the team effort and play their role, thus will usually end up with more points than those who focuses on getting kills.

I care about winning and securing myself a position in the top 3 efficiency places, that means money and it meens i did something for the team wich actually translates directly to myself in the form of credits and rep.

The Golum anology is actually pretty accurate to what AlphaGator posts because its not his kill, its a foe from the enemy team, therefore making it a foe to his team.

You can argue all day that you went after him and and and its fine, but when a wingmate relieves you by putting the red out of his misery be happy about it, you have the chance to go after someone else thus scoring more points and you can turn your attentions perhaps into some more pressing matters like defending that Frigate or that beacon or protecting the bomb carrier for instance.

This is not Counterstrike, Unreal Tournament, Quake or  the sort , this is actually a team game and some tactics and team work are really needed.

Well said…I get obsessed with kills when I first played this type of game (wot), then I learned that you win and lose as a team…and winning = more reward, hence more important. I don’t need recognition from my kill count.

I would so love a module that lets me board enemy ships and then have glorious lightsaber duels with them,

after winning I would spit in their tea and rape their cats… oh the good times.

Also critical hits would be nice, that can disable your modules or engines, or maybe put your ship on fire …

But i disgress, this thread was about what? Ah… about QQ mimimi and WAHWAAAAAAAAHWAAAH.

I suggest 2 diapers per day orally and maybe a beard.

That might help.

OP is a xxxx, true fact.

The OP made a valid question on a matter that he considers important. Then a bunch of tards jump in and try to out tard each other. If his question doesn’t interest you then just move on.

Why does every thread in this forum degenerate into a juvenile piss fest?

If the OPs question is valid, then all responses are also valid.

Strange that you accuse others of being ‘tards’ and then reveal that you don’t understand the nature of internet forums by asking a question with an answer obvious to anyone who has basic comprehension skills.

It would be nice if the developers could find a way to award the actual kill to the person that did ALL the work by chasing, shooting, overheating etc. instead of the person that gets 1 shot in or sends 1 freaking missle to STEAL your kill. It is very annoying to have this happen 5,6,7 times a game. Sorry if the campers don’t have the skill to get in a fighter or interceptor and get there own kills and it’s not only the frigates but it is easier to blame them since they are long range support. and when you are in a fight with a lot of fighters and interceptors it’s harder to tell who is shooting who. There has to be a way to correctly award the kill to the one that did the work.

Just what we need, people chasing one interceptor while the enemy team nukes the beacons with the EMP bomb.

This.

Only improvement to current system would be getting rewarded for amount of damage done (maybe). But I agree - kills don’t matter that much in an objective focused game. Especially, that most (if not all) contracts asking you to “destroy X enemies” counts assists towards the completion.

“Kill stealing” is not issue. There is assist.

E.g. not getting rewarded for guarding/escording the bomb carrier is an issue, and even that isn’t a big deal.

I started this topic so you can go elsware.

Yes. You did start this topic.

And you got answers. Correct ones.

That you don’t like them is your problem.
