I don’t think that a new shipclass in planned. The premium frigates have the most slots and there probably won’t be another shipclass with even more slots.

You have some dangerous sectors with cargo drones. There you will find the best craft materials. I don’t remember where, but if you pick a fast recon interceptor you can scout all the sectors in little time.
I believe Raider Range has a cargo drone leading to Empire space, so you can farm R10 Dangerous there.

Barter zone has a drone in the gate with colonization hub. But beware, lot of people there because of that, both good and bad people.
