Think about it, sometimes, dont you wish you can transfer your excess power to weapons to finish off a guy? Or just transfer power to tank with your shields a bit better? Or even run away with full afterburning to escape certain death?
Well, I think it would be great to have T3 and beyond, as T2 and lower is still training levels…
If Dreads would be played by multiple players, different minigames (Engineering, Control, Weapons (multiple)) would indeed allow some nice stuff, but I think, that would really rock if you had multiple dreads in a gigantic battle…
I don’t know if I would like a toggle system, I don’t like them on Guard either. I actually fit my guard to leave it at a certain setting and only swap if I am lazy, using it to bulldoze other Guards around anyway. It takes my eyes off crosshair to see what I take, which is why I am really not good with the Guardian Shield.
You’d really have to try this first hand, JP, I think, to tell if it would really be so nice. You need a Dev Kit
I do like the idea however, I designed a similar system to toggle “Offense, normal, defense” once in a fighting system script for a mmo game, reminds me very much of it. However in the course of gameplay, we had to change a lot about it, because the idea seemed in many ways better, then the usage. Since it was a hardcore audience, we also did not really care about complexity, because everybody there loved pressing thousands of buttons, so it was even not for the same target audience as here.
More finetuning for the ship (more depth into the core systems) would however definitely make us both pretty happy i guess
Imagine a modular system where you could build such modules out of small parts and toggle a keybinding to it…
Dayum Voyd, for a moment i thought i was climbing an aztec ziggurat xd
Wild thought about dreads: they’ll probably be implemented as an RTS element in the hands of a single pilot, like you control ships in Homeworld or Nexus. Just sayin’. It wouldn’t be that bad at all actually.
*re-installs Nexus and Homeworld just for the heck of it*
I would be fun having to fight a OP punisher with 31 people by your side. I can imagine the explosions and carnage. OH, heres the kicker, one the players gets randomly to be chosen to be the punisher! MUAHAHAH!!
