Why not add a “join a corporation” option in the game so you could send a request to join to the corporation leader?
The idea is good, but will generate enormous amount of spam…
Some Corps are very picky about who they fly with, and do not accept requests - they invite you if they think you are good enough. Other Corps will take whomsoever they can get, but as a rule you don’t want to be a part of a Corp like that; they are called “Zerg Corps” and have a poor reputation within the community.
The right way to join a Corp in the eyes of most is to get to know them first. Find out who they are, who their “characters” are, how and when they play, whether Teamspeak is needed (it often is), whether or not they find xxxx jokes funny and what animals you are meant to sacrifice over a burning XBox upon joining. By doing this research, you will inevitably have to talk to people in the Corp, and when you do recruitment is likely to boil down to two simple questions: Do they like you, and do you like them? If the answer to both is “yes”, you’ve found yourself a Corp! If one or both answer “No”, then you should look elsewhere.
None of this can be accomplished by spamming an in-game button.
