It was much fun in Quake3 playing with 270° fov, i guess it would be nice to have it here. From a graphics point of view its trivial, the question is, is there any support for this in game of through configs and if it violates the ToS?

Best way to do it is to do what I did. Buy 2 more monitors. I have such an advantage and my field of view is super wide. Also, I can aim my cursor on the other monitors, thus I dont even have to turn my ship all the way as long as my guns are pointed in the right direction to shoot.

I guess I speak on behalf of the whole community here when I say that I saw that coming from a parsec away.
As much as I want to disagree, it is nonetheless a good way of getting your wide PoV. It’s been stated multiple times that mods for SC aren’t allowed. Besides, getting extra monitors will benefit you in other games as well, not just SC. If you spend enough time on games that benefit from multiple screens, why not make the investment?
I’m assuming you have the money to begin with, and enough space to accommodate the monitors. I have at most seven inches of clearance on both sides of my MacBook combined.

All high profile keyboards are underperforming comparing to very slim, low profile or Laptop keyboards.

Wow JP, that is really a game station! Sadly i don’t have the extra monitors. But if its legal to increase fov with them, it should be legal also to just set it higher. Even better, you keep the ratio to 16:9 instead of 3*16:9 you get to increase the X axis fov too, not just the Y. In a 3D game it seems important.
So none of you have any settings that can do the trick? I cant find any looking through the game files, but im not a pro at this.

To me the vision reduction was was what to you would be like taking your two side monitors away. It destroyed my ability to dogfight (I mained Interceptors) and enjoy the game.

Imagine triple projectors. I visited a company that builds flight simulators, some cost around $8 million. Triple projectors provide seamless 225 degree vision. I couldn’t get inside, look at the view and not think of this game, especially with the air screws to provide realistic movement.

When I gave the game one last shot back around patch 0.9.0, they had not fixed it. Around patch 0.9.2 they made it an option to pull it back to an acceptable distance, I figured out last night when I was looking through patch notes. It let me at least update and try out a few games. Hey, second game I got a EMP bomb delivery, I didn’t lose my touch.

Let me put it this way. I see your triple monitor set up and my thought is, “nice idea, but not worth it to me.” I was in the $8 million flight simulator for a jet and I started thinking in my head of how to build a box to house the projectors, 7.1 surround, chair, and everything else.
The catch is you’re looking at a $10k DIY job.
