I recently tried fitting some rapid fire plasma cannons on to my ship, and they worked quite well. However, when I activated overdrive on my empire fighter, I noticed almost no change in attack speed. Normally overdrive gives a +66% bonus attack speed which should be very noticeable difference. I tried it with standard assault plasma cannons, and there was a very obvious attack speed boost. The regular attack speed of the rapid fire is 299.6 and the regular attack speed of the assault is 214.

hardcaps are always a prove of some bad designs somewhere
